Be interesting to see if the demonstrators do this.

Interesting point.
Do you think the protestors would have stayed home if Cummings had not gone to Durham?

Why has no one asked why he is flying solo ?
It is obvious.
The government deciding to move on to opening things up.
They will never admit they made a mistake listening to the wrong scientists and introduced a costly lockdown.

If this is the norm then the government could be flying solo from now on with voluntary abstention from the health experts. Would you fly with this government as pilot? Not a blooming chance.
No chance.
They made a big mistake and now as they try to reverse it but getting rid of the scientists that spread the fear without explaining they got it wrong is going to lead to confusion.
I do not trust them on getting the young and fit back to work whilst protecting the old/vulnerable until they admit they got it wrong and we see measures to protect those who need it now.

I actually think Cummings is a huge part of the reason to be fair. Let's be honest a venn diagram of anti-fascist, anti-racist, Labour/general left leaning would pretty much be a circle. I think a lot of the protesting in this country is based on unhappiness of how the virus has been handled, notably in the government's them and us attitude to applying rules. The anti-racism protest has come at a convenient time for them to vent.

Surely there will have to be public protests very soon against the goverments handling of this if there is a second wave soon?
Personally, I would like to see some sign of an end to the first wave, before even thinking about a second one.
