Not sure it serves any of them well
Public want more info that law allows, perhaps British plod, and Portuguese plod called in left floundering whilst German plod trying to see what this guy might be guilty of. |
|
By:
Than that the law allows
|
|
By:
They aren't trying to solve the case it's all about media coverage whilst sticking to the original impossible story.
The Germans are trying to clear their cold cases, more media coverage leads to public pressure and it's likely more can be pinned on this one guy. |
|
By:
Another fairy tale with this guy then

in this respect, more of a Marchen

It's not actually a bad article that. Was expecting sh1te from mirror.
I think Germans must be frantic trying to hold him, and all this stuff is feeding his defense team more and more reasons to let him out. Let them get on with it, for now. Other plods covering their backs incase he's guilty. |

pretty distasteful stuff from the German prosecutor - seems like they've been using Maddie's name to get themselves (or, to give them to benefit of the doubt, their cases) into the headlines,

Portuguese plod now saying they consider German evidence
to be significant. |

German plod leaking to mirror? |
|

could be Donny. One things for sure, they'd better produce something & quick

I see other papers carrying same story,
Case has built up, but obviously not first time. Probably best to not build up hopes on press speculation . |
|
By:
Sky saying the same. Pretty abhorrent if German plod don't have reliable & irrefutable proof. We shall see
|
|
By:
why write a letter if not 100% certain
bizzare |
|
By:
They say they have concrete proof that she's dead. So seemingly they have enough evidence to make that claim. But not enough ( DNA)? to charge the prime suspect. And any details of proof cannot be shared, for fear of compromising the case.

"we assume Madeline [sic] is dead."
guesser on a fishing trip IMO |

If I am reading between the lines correctly...
German plod has some evidence, but not yet quite enough to charge their suspect. When they charge him they have to confront him with the evidence they have He will then be able to create a defence to the evidence, so they dont Want to tell him what it is just yet. In the meantime if he was to mention the evidence it would hamper his chance of creating a defence to it. An unrelated case.... Ian Huntley denies murder Mr Huntley is into a second day of questioning Ian Huntley "invented" a defence to fit the facts, the prosecution lawyer at his murder trial has said. Richard Latham QC, cross-examining Mr Huntley, described him as "devious" and a liar who "planned" a defence once he knew of the prosecution case. Mr Huntley, 29, said he did tell lies but at the time "genuinely believed" he had done nothing wrong. |
|
By:
For my reading between the lines it appears the 'evidence' is most likely someone said that CB said that Madeleine is dead.
The only evidence that would be of any use is physical evidence that Madeleine was in one of his vehicles. Hard to see how the Germans got hold of that without close co-operation with UK/Portugal cops but the latter indicate that the Germans are coming up with this theory on their own. |
|
By:
they've not even interviewed their "chief suspect" Funny ways in Germany

I doubt Gerry would agree to an interview

The tapas 7 statements wouldn't stand up on here let alone a courtroom imagine them under oath
