Chances Of 2nd Wave?

The UK will not have a "Second Wave"....

We just won't allow that to happen, as we will keep it seamless, which is already evident
from the disgraceful (criminal even) handling of everything  to date!

We will have a 2nd wave. Can you imagine travelling safely on the tube, or through mainline stations? How about people in packed shops/pubs etc? A decent proportion of the public are likely to be cautious for some time, regardless of government guidelines. Others will rush back into things at the earliest opportunity! A majority of the below 35s will likely feel they have less to fear, though that will not stop them passing on the virus to other, more vulnerable people. I'll be taking a patient approach & see how the no. of daily infections & deaths go for at least a month or so, after they let people loose.

I,m  not a believer in the hard surface theory as you no ,but scientists are,yet they stand there whilst  doris tells people to invite 6 people in your garden and have a barbecue,glasses,plates,cup,cutlery,could their be a worse scenario of passing on virus than a barbecue,or am I missing something
I no when I did a few days work a few weeks back making a cup of tea was a nightmare your head was frazzled,spoons,taps,cup,kettle,boiler,fridge,milk,work top x a cabin full of men all looking at you waiting to pounce if they thought you,d done something they didn't agree with,after a couple of days took a flask,

Panic inducing is essentially a winter sport.  Not so effective in the summer as we plebs are quite brave and optimistic with the sun on our backs.  "A nation of sheep begets a govt of wolves" - Edward R Murrow.  I thought our collective response to the '1st wave' of panic spreading was quite pathetic.  I see the fear mongering ramped up come winter.  The winter is coming.  I am quite pessimistic so I am glad to see others see a brighter future.

I agree with Stow Judge on this one.

I think it depends on how badly lockdown breaks down. A certain number will continue to adhere but I suspect too many will see this as a green light to do what they like.

As I said on another thread the figures are so bad that either the government has made a complete horlicks and/or the public haven't adhered to the lockdown as well as has been suggested.

With the exception of avoiding joggers and dog walkers I have felt reasonably safe walking and doing my shopping but I suspect we are now entering a more dangerous phase of the crisis.

When you say second wave do you mean the whole thing dies down and then we have another wave with 50,000 (or more) 'excess deaths'?
