Personally, I'd not film any female, young or elderly, in a park contravening or breaking the rules regarding its use. No further questions, m'lud. |

By:
I think if I was a young black man in America I'd be tempted to film just about every interaction with a stranger I could.
|
|
By:
Me neither, impossible123, and why not?
Stalking, harassment, making the female feel threatened and in danger? Not having a dog on the leash (presumably not a dangerous one, though I appreciate the gentleman may have been made so paranoid with fear by govt and MSM coverage of covid-19 that he feared catching covid-19 from the dog ), hardly crime of the century. |
|
By:
And where do we draw the line, it's also an offence in most jurisdictions not to pick up after your dog, so do we permit men to follow women around in parks filming them and justify it by them saying they just wanted to make sure the women picked up their dogs sh*t?

Walofs George
She was devious and calculating. I am glad she lost her job. She could have got a man killed by her actions and she knew it. |
|
By:
Or perhaps what we really want is a Stasi state. Spying on our neighbours and filming even the most minor of transgressions. Shop the b*stards!
|
|
By:
Or maybe we could put our dogs on a lead!
|
|

I think you are introducing personal "opinions" not conducive to what this man did, but to defend a racism behaviour of another "human being".
If I was black, I'd possibly have done the same (if I was in America) with the audio and video recording running. But, I'd not call the police but possibly post it on social media. I'm glad her (former) employer did not come to the same conclusion as you which has restores some faith back in America for me. |
|
By:
So what are you advocating, Whisperingdeath, that men be permitted to film women in parks on the off chance that they may make false accusations against them?
|
|
By:
Very well put

I am advocating this woman that the woman is a nasty piece of work and got what she deserved and I am glad justice has been served on her.

It was disgraceful behaviour. She didn’t like being told to put her dog on a lead, especially by a second class citizen! She thinks/ thought she was better than him, and decided to try and turn the tables by lying about being threatened. She was the aggressor in all this, and luckily for him he had the foresight to film it after the initial confrontation. I can guarantee most people would’ve believed her if it hadn’t been filmed.
And as for dragging the dog around and almost strangling it, she doesn’t deserve to get it back. |

there's one grass in the video and that's the one trying to put a man's life at risk because she is a racist hag how was she putting his life at risk, please? |

I think it's sad there is someone who still cannot even accept something so clearly and repugnant on this forum. However, I'm so glad her former employer had terminated her contract and she was sacked immediately.
I'm glad I do not live to America at present, but I hope post President Trump America will be a more acceptable and inclusive society for humans of non-white descendants. |

Personally, I'd not film any female, young or elderly, in a park contravening or breaking the rules regarding its use. Yet you think it's perfectly acceptable for another man to do it, and you justify it by playing the race card? You don't think she might have felt threatened or in danger by the fact that she was being filmed in a public park by someone she presumably didn't know? |
|
By:
Only what’s been reported, George. It sounds like it’s the truth to me.
|
|
By:
Threatened by a birdwatcher behind a fence!
Walofs! |
|
By:
'GEORGE.B', you are on ignore. Do not wish to communicate with someone so non-receptive to an event so clearly was racist and deplorable. Good-bye.
|
|
By:
This isn’t what she had to say.
Amy Cooper spoke to NBC. “I sincerely and humbly apologize to everyone, especially to that man, his family,” she said. “It was unacceptable and I humbly and fully apologize to everyone who’s seen that video, everyone that’s been offended. “When I think about the police, I’m such a blessed person. I’ve come to realise especially today that I think of [the police] as a protection agency, and unfortunately, this has caused me to realize that there are so many people in this country that don’t have that luxury.” |
|
By:
Is, not isn’t.
|
|
By:
So in the absence of any evidence to the contrary, this man was filming her because her dog was off the lead, and feeling threatened, she's reacted.
I think we can presume that some of you on this thread advocate the filming of women in public parks for minor transgressions. |
|
By:
Come off it, George. He started filming her because he could see she was becoming irrational. Not because he’s some kind of twisted pervert.
|
|
By:
I didn't say he was a twisted pervert, but with the evidence presented by the OP, he was filming her cuz her dog was off the lead, and she's reacted.

impossible123 27 May 20 15:49 Personally, I'd not film any female, young or elderly, in a park contravening or breaking the rules regarding its use. Yet you start a thread in support of another man doing exactly this. You plonker. |

By:
Lads can someone explain why this is a RACE issue please just because the person she phoned the cops about wasn't white,it has nothing to do with race regardless of who was in the right, dog not on lead, feeling threatened, black guy filming for his own protection etc.
A woman felt threatened and phoned the police,if the guy was white would she have lost her job,her dog, received death threats? NO Why is the race card always played? |
|
By:
No point in discussing it with someone who is quite clearly stupid or disingenuous at the very least.

It's what happens when someone who has examined the 'facts' (as little as one minute's worth posted on social media in this instance) and then refuses to join the lynch mob, the best the baying mob can respond with is to turn on the person for daring to disagree with them.

She seemed quite distressed (and yes that manifested rather unpleasantly).
Would have been more gentlemanly to not film, check shes ok, repeat his beef and then move on |
|
By:

I think we can presume that some of you on this thread advocate the filming of women in public parks for minor transgressions. So lets get this right .. the guy was concerned that he might be misjudged because he is black even though the white woman was completely in the wrong so decided he would have incontrovertible evidence to back himself up ... now he is criticised because he has it; yet if he didn't have it he would be very likely considered the transgressor aanyway ... and you wonder why blacks in the US think they are hard done by and reject authority |
|
By:
I've just read this Daily Mail report which gives more detail.
He actually said to her: If you're going to do what you want, I'm going to do what I want, but you're not going to like it At which point he called the dog towards him Which caused her to respond the way she did https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8360133/Central-Park-bird- watcher-condemns-death-threats-against-Amy-Cooper-called-cops-him.html |

It seems the NYPD aren't pressing charges (you mean she's not committed any crime?), and the gentleman refuses to call her a racist.
Law abiding woman takes dog for a walk, man takes issue with where's she walking it, dog walk ends with woman's life in tatters, no job and no dog. |
|
By:
There is still NO PROOF WHATSOEVER of any racism
If the birder guy was white it's a non story If anything the white woman is the victim the way she's been treat is ONLY because the guy filming her ISN'T WHITE If there's any actual evidence of racism towards the guy that's a different story What's happening to this woman is disgusting and is all about racial perception forcing people to react and police eachother, again if the guy was WHITE it's nothing why is it different because he wasn't? |

These people preach equality and incidences like this show they can't separate personal bias and fact therefore can't treat people equally whilst at the same time throwing racist jibes about left right and centre
