What's changed I wonder.^Surely you can see the difference between a married woman living her husband, who she thought had Covid, to travel across London to have presumably intimate contact with another man from a different household is different from choosing which private house to go to isolate as a household with symptoms. It is interesting the pro-EU types have no common sense interpretation of the guidance.
But you weren't concerned about intimacy then. You simply stated it was unacceptable to leave the house if you're symptomatic. Now you're twisting and trying to re-write your own words trying to defend your favourite multi-millionaire.
We've got a guy who actually sat in on SAGE meetings and then advised the PM of the day whose instruction was categorical - STAY HOME. No ifs or buts. No "use your common sense and interpret the message how you see fit" (you love a deep dive; if you can find a use-your-common-sense-don't-take-this-literally message from the dates concerned I'll send £10 to the charity of your choice; if you can't, then maybe send one to Alder Hey. Deal?) If you get it then you get on with it, don't involve others and risk spreading it.
Just amusing that you yourself start a thread railing against hypocrisy and fail to comment on this most hypocritical of stances from someone at the very heart of the government message centre and indeed of your own sudden change of heart when it suits.
This place still raises a smile thankfully.

PP, did he leave home once he was was lockdown with symptoms in Durham? If he did then he will have broken the guidance.I am also concerned that Hancock was out and about so soon after actually being positive. In Spain you have to wait 14 days after your first negative test before you can leave isolation.
Nope, his home is in London. As we've seen, going to stay in a second home or relatives was not permitted. Once his missus came down with it, the clear instruction was to stay inside for at least 14 days, not get off to a castle 250 miles away.
Again, if you can prove the wriggle room in the instructions at the time then have at it.

Who this guidance is for
This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.
Read further travel guidance for British citizens travelling abroad and foreign travel advice for each country.

and yes, it's been like that since before Cummings made his trip. Funny to witness your continued desperate attempts at somehow spinning things around on behalf of your favoured elites that hold you in total contempt.

I think there's a lot of genuine outrage too though. My mum should be in Benidorm with her best friend now whose birthday it is today. Instead, she's just got off the phone to me in tears that her friend is gone and how guilty she feels that she couldn't even go to her funeral.Stories of families and friends who have sacrificed so much in the recent weeks are common up and down the country. This has got nothing to do with brexit right now. It's about the very top of the government telling the plebs to do one thing while they swan about free as a bird and aren't remotely apologetic when caught out.
Spot on, and that's the message that Johnson will be getting from his MP's who, in turn, are receiving such messages from their constituents.
