...US state lost 'hundreds of millions' to benefits scammers
The US state of Washington lost "hundreds of millions" of dollars to benefits scammers, officials there have acknowledged, as the number of workers laid off due to coronavirus continues to rise. The loss was disclosed by the state's Employment Security Department on Thursday.
Last week, the US Secret Service warned that states were being targeted by a “well-organised Nigerian fraud ring exploiting the COVID-19 crisis to commit large-scale fraud against state unemployment insurance programs” adding up to “potential losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars”.
The agency added that there was also evidence of attacks in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Florida, the Seattle Times reports.

Meanwhile, here's one of Britain's very own, less well-organised, Coronavirus fraudsters. As predictable as night following day. And there are even claims he has close family links to the Labour Party. There's a surprise.
What do you suppose encouraged this fraudster to believe that he was perfectly entitled to commit his nasty crimes?

The biggest scammers of all are the central banks but they look right and sound right so nobody looks under that rock.
Ms Khatoon appears to have deleted her twitter account. People who voted her in will probably applaud the son.
On the bright side, they've just gotten an email saying they can have it back if they just give their bank details.

I just hope he cannot access state benefit post completing his sentence in jail. What a despicable individual conning others during in a pandemic crisis - the lowest of the low. A true scumbag.
