So say the ONS after analysing the first set of results from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Survey for England.
Our latest estimates indicate that at any given time during the two weeks from 27 April to 10 May 2020, an average of 148,000 people in England had the coronavirus (COVID-19) (95% confidence interval: 94,000 to 222,000). This equates to 0.27% (95% confidence interval: 0.17% to 0.41%) of the population in England. This estimate is based on tests performed on 10,705 people in 5,276 households.
Out of the 10,705 participants’ swab tests included in this analysis, 33 individuals in 30 households tested positive for COVID-19. The figures do not include people in hospital or care homes where rates of COVID-19 infection are likely to be higher.
This study is the Trace element of the Test, Track, and Trace programme.
Track The Government wants to track Covid-19 in the population to try to understand the current rate of infection alongside how many people have developed antibodies to the virus.
Mr Hancock said 25,000 people will take part in the first phase of a large-scale testing study, with plans to expand it to up to 300,000 over the next 12 months.
For the study, initial findings from which are expected in early May, all participants will be tested to see if they currently have coronavirus, while adults in 1,000 of the households will provide blood samples to find out what proportion of the population has developed antibodies.

Research carried out in England from 1998 to 2003 found 72% of children with Kawasaki disease were under the age of 5.
The condition was also shown to be 1.5 times more common in boys than girls.

Maybe Dotchinite,i can't say for deffo ,on the op they seem most affected.
Getting the children back to school is the obvious 1st step to try and get an economy back, i don't disagree with it,ideally i would like a lot less cases in a country to give that a decent chance of suceeding though i would accept to a point something has to be done soon.

2-19 year olds have the most positves recorded from all age groups,so schools opening would seem a pretty pointless and stupid way of infecting more people, thus why 1000s of parents aren't going to send their kids in..
