Are you sure 10-20% will provide immunity to protect the people. Still leaves 80-90% with no protection. In the early days (back in Frb/ March) were talking at about 70% IT - which of those countries I mentioned do you believe have handled this crisis the best? I'm impressed that NZ seem to have zero (or very low numbers) of new cases & 21 (maybe slightly higher if people missed) deaths. |

In terms of civil liberties and flattening the curve Sweden has done the best as they do not have to worry about ending lockdown.
Countries with less civil liberties New Zealand, Belarus and Taiwan seem to be doing well in terms of current death rates. |

Early days yet IT.
There is a decent chance that in a couple of months time Kiwis (& maybe Aussies) will be able to go to pub, cinema, restaurants, party, concerts , stadium sporting events etc. Seems unlikely Sweden will allow that amount of "civil liberties " . Of course NZ /OZ not doing that yet , but seems to be their aim. I feel at some point UK will "accept" a stable amount of cases/deaths each day to return to "normal " - the difficult part will be keeping it stable. If we have 1000 infections a day , would expect under 20 deaths a day?? UK public may go with that situation. Of course would need to make sure those 1000 daily cases don't start to rise exponentially. |

10-20% to provide immunity sounds, on the face of it as ludicrous.
I think the Govt are heading down the herd immunity route and I also think that they are hoping for a shift in the general thinking across the population of an attitude to develop of a "push on through" mentality when cases go back up. However when if that actually happens and we start to see death rates/cases spiral, even if the NHS can handle it, it will be very hard in this country to just push on through, the pressure to address it will be too great. |

I believe anyone who thinks a better prep is not the recipe for success or lesser failure given present climate is beyond comprehension even if it means Civil Liberty (CL) is infringed upon for the time being. And, I've little doubt the families and relatives of victims of Covid-19 can testify to it.
Economic prosperity is people/citizen dependent not so much government unless it Africa where corrupt despots aplenty. For instance, Singapore, where CL has been infringed upon regularly in Singapore - a country with nothing except its position in the world, and its intelligent and hardworking citizens; Japan and Germany - 2 countries on their knee post 2nd world war, but now the icon of economic success. New Zealand and Australia may have benefited from their vast acreage, a lower population (comparatively) and "isolated" geographical position nevertheless, a non-proactive stance at the outset would have seen a more damaging position than the present; less damaging = quicker "normality" = quicker economic recovery = quicker prosperity = stability. These 2 countries have acted swiftly to contain and minimise Covid-19 spread effectively similarly, immigration which has ensured their status and integrity are well regarded and appreciated, and living in either country is highly sought by any potential newcomers ie no foreign benefit/whingers or riff-raff in abundance. |

Ordering Pizza In 2020
CALLER: Is this Gordon's Pizza? GOOGLE: No sir, it's Google Pizza. CALLER: I must have dialled the wrong number. Sorry. GOOGLE: No sir, Google bought Gordon’s Pizza last month. CALLER: OK. I would like to order a pizza. GOOGLE: Do you want your usual, sir? CALLER: My usual? You know me? GOOGLE: According to our caller ID data sheet, the last 12 times you called you ordered an extra-large pizza with three kinds of cheese, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and meatballs on a thick crust. CALLER: OK! That’s what I want ... GOOGLE: May I suggest that this time you order a pizza with ricotta, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and olives on a whole wheat gluten-free thin crust? CALLER: What? I detest vegetables! GOOGLE: Your cholesterol is not good, sir. CALLER: How the hell do you know! GOOGLE: Well, we cross-referenced your home phone number with your medical records. We have the result of your blood tests for the last 7 years. CALLER: Okay, but I do not want your rotten vegetable pizza! I already take medication for my cholesterol. GOOGLE: Excuse me sir, but you have not taken your medication regularly. According to our database, you purchased only a box of 30 cholesterol tablets once, at Drug RX Network, 4 months ago. CALLER: I bought more from another drugstore. GOOGLE: That doesn’t show on your credit card statement. CALLER: I paid in cash. GOOGLE: But you did not withdraw enough cash according to your bank statement. CALLER: I have other sources of cash. GOOGLE: That doesn’t show on your last tax return unless you bought them using an undeclared income source, which is against the law. CALLER: WHAT THE HELL! GOOGLE: I'm sorry, sir, we use such information only with the sole intention of helping you. CALLER: Enough already! I'm sick to death of Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and all the others. I'm going to an island without an Internet, or cable TV, where there is no cell phone service and no one to watch me or spy on me. GOOGLE: I understand sir, but Alexa says you need to renew your passport first. It expired 6 weeks ago???? !!!! |

Ardern is a monumental bull5hitter and empty suit.
She's an expert at bull5hitting to the cameras and "Hugging"/sob stories Unless she plans to lockdown NZ forever, all she has succeeded in doing is ensuring more people die and setting her economy alight |

I wish we had a bull**** of that calibre. Boris aspires to be like her.

8 new recorded cases in New Zealand in past week. Is that enough C.O.N.T.R.O.L for your shiny hat Henry? They have an chance of getting to zero cases in the country. Life is slowly returning to some sort of normal. Stop trolling Henry - do you actually believe there is a virus killing people or do you need to check with David Icke first. Shame UK doesn't have C.O.N.T.R.O.L that is why we have thousands of deaths & normal life seems to be a long way off. Still you can still get your special hat polish Henry so life can carry on as normal for Icke's Sheeple . Keep it shiny Henry. The truth is in a 4 hour you tube video. |

do they plan to reopen the border at any point or is it locked forever? Whats the plan for when foreigners start importing the virus again? |

Will be a nice problem for New Zealand to have. If they do get to zero cases.
They might be able to allow people to visit from Oz if they also get to zero. Regarding outside world- would need to put people in isolation for 2 weeks with testing . So only people who would go there will be those who want to stay for a few months or longer. Shipping of goods in and out can still happen fairly safely as with cargo flights. Gap year stop offs down under may be a thing of the past . Then again UK turned its back on 50 years of Aussies/ Kiwis when deciding we would rather have East Europeans working & living here. If a vaccine is developed in a couple of years then they could open border with minimum risk to citizens. Wish UK had their problem. |

If a country like New Zealand with its geographical location and climate and zero Covid-19 it will undoubtedly attract significant numbers of wealthy individuals eg Gates/Bezos/Zuckerburg/etc.
