"The first of the new and existing medicines to be tested through the ACCORD platform is Bemcentinib." p.41
Don't worry' we've got Bemcentinib on the way "The first of the new and existing medicines to be tested through the ACCORD platform is Bemcentinib." p.41
Thought for a moment ACCORD was some new and fancy shared computing platform that I could hook up my leftover raspberry pi (I) to, but it's only some lame normal research programme. Terribly disappointed.

Well China was lined up to be UK's new best friend with Boris' family the leading stars in the Huawei FIVE-O made-for-TV drama, where they asset strip the country for their mates and keep the immigrants coming into the country to keep the plebiscite distracted.

I came across a Daily Mirror article a while ago titled something along the lines of "Britain has long made itself the whore of the world". Never saw a truer headline in all my life.
Reminded me of some rather peculiar forum posters (like Burt06) who celebrated the sell out of British assets and firms to international vultures as glorious investments after the GBP crashed following the Brexit vote.

So as you can imagine, Boris is in a bit of a kerfuffle. In the event of not negotiating a Trade Deal with the EU, he can no longer play China off against America to secure a good deal for the UK

though tbf it's not majorily about the sell-out of assets, but about something that most western countries do more or less. Some just more than others.

There's an easy way out for Boris. Just extend for 5 years, the British public won't mind this beyond a select few, then don't stand at the next election, citing health and family.

While I sometimes talk tough about wanting maximum harm for the UK in the face of the board's fringe portion of weirdo brexiters like dori, I don't think I'd actually take any pleasure out of Trump, or anyone else, taking a dump on Johnson/the UK and harming millions of people with it.
While a UK-EU deal would be more beneficial than no deal, quite obviously, I'm overall indifferent. I don't think it's as vitally important to the EU as some British people like to make out.
If Boris extends for five years, it achieves a multitude of things
1) A bit more stability for a while during economically challenging times 2) Trump won't be President anymore. Potentially the USA will have a President that is less likely to take a massive dump on the UK 3) China might have convinced everyone they are cool again 4) The UK can have a bidder's war between the EU, USA, China, maybe others 5) Boris won't have to deal with any of this hyper complicated international business if he doesn't stand at the next elections. It's a better way out than resigning or being thrown out

They are reasonable points if there were to be a a five year delay. This will never happen though.
Whether there is a trade deal not, the most important thing would be a deal for food. This should be fast-tracked and made separate if need be.

1922/Farage block very much so yes. Public aside, it would be interesting to see how much support a 5 year delay would get from the right leaning press. In fact, it would be such a nice acid test he should announce it tomorrow.

Yes. But May's deal was terrible, but not terrible enough for Boris' to vote for it in the commons on its last sitting. Perhaps Boris' position on Brexit is, ahem, 'nuanced'.
