In May 2020, it was reported that several members of a choir in Yorkshire had suffered COVID-19-like symptoms shortly after the partner of one of the choir members returned from a business trip to Wuhan, China, on 17 or 18 December.

I wonder why OP hasn't bothered linking to the story?

News of Scotland's first confirmed coronavirus case, in Tayside, was announced on 1 March.

The BBC can reveal the virus had been brought to Scotland the week before.

An outbreak began in Edinburgh on 26 and 27 of February at a conference for the sportswear giant Nike. More than 70 employees from all over the world attended the conference at the Hilton Carlton Hotel.

One of the delegates from abroad brought the virus into Edinburgh and infected many of their fellow Nike employees, who then returned to their own countries. At least 25 people linked to this one event are confirmed to have been infected - eight of them resident in Scotland.

Health authorities in Scotland were aware of this potential outbreak by 2 March, but the public were not told about it. Nike closed many of its stores around the UK and worldwide for deep cleans.

That is the link to the programme, if anybody wants to watch it.
Some good some bad for the Scottish Gov. the health guy doesnt come out of it great at all.
And the email more or less begging TTI not to be stopped up here by a scientist was never replied to nor the follow up.
Anyway you can make your own minds up.

Nec...like the rest of the UK we simply did not have the tests to do the job.
Report N-east Correspondent May 12, 2020 10:51 AM BST
So why no response to that effect they wouldnt go on the programme and nobody replied twice to the email?
Ireland managed it in 10 days, Scottish NHS/Gov could possibly have done the same?
Report sofiakenny May 12, 2020 11:10 AM BST
Perhaps we will hear later today...will be surprised if it isn't aired at today's briefing.
As an aside during the run up to lockdown we were all tuned in to Boris as what we should be doing regarding what steps we should be taking
People glued to the telly wondering when he was gonna close down pubs..did not seem Scotland specific at the time.

I am sorry, but what exactly is it that you are unhappy about please?

pp..I think he is complaining that Scotland did not continue to TTI.
Report N-east Correspondent May 12, 2020 11:35 AM BST
that and the issues surrounding PPE, frontline staff not being tested regularly etc, carehomes residents - it is personal my daughter is a FY1.
I would say they have done a lot good and a lot bad but my comment they seem above criticism at times stands.

I think the difference in press conferences throughout the UK (Ireland also) is that some administrations have been much more open and honest. Some are loathe to admit they have made mistakes while others openly admit to doing so. If the leader of your particular nation within these isles seems to be consistent, that inspires confidence in what they are presenting to you daily.
Report sofiakenny May 12, 2020 11:44 AM BST
nec..Nicola has stated more than once that she has made mistakes and will probably make more..that said.. she is by and large very transparent
(unlike England)..and does not hide away and virtually every day turns up and faces the heat from the media.
