Boris has basically told everyone that it's open house to jump in your car with your kids,booze and picnic hamper and head for the nearest beauty spot or beach. There is nothing to worry about, it's quite safe to do so.

The message was so clear that Dominic Raab was doing the media rounds this morning stating that you could meet up with both of your parents in an outside space, changed from Johnson's message of meeting only one person, only for "clarification" to later be made that you can only meet one person from outside your household after all.

They do have the sense to know when/how it's safe to meet with parents, or anyone else.

I live on the south coast, a development with large grounds, from week one kids have been visiting their parents whilst staying apart in the gardens, no ones been given a ticket, I doubt anyone has received a ticket for such a visit, in fact one force was forced to give a public apology when they arrested a guy for visiting his elderly mother.

Whatever Boris said or did he would've faced criticism.  Imo it's time to ease restrictions slightly and that is the effect of the plans.  Not everyone will behave identically, but they never would, and what matters is how on average people behave.  The economic damage will be by far the biggest killer in the long run and Boris has responsibility for the economy.

I thought it was very clear, he wants everyone to go out, without making it sound too gung ho, the scientists are curious to see what the "R" will do, we already know that Vallance likes this approach.

They need to see if there is any chance of the bit by bit approach working but we're probably taking the first tentative steps toward the herd immunity approach once again, which ultimately will be the only way to deal with this long term, as unpleasant and worrying as that is.

We must surely all know by now that social distancing prohibits getting back to normal, the economy cannot recover if we are having to adopt social distancing because that in itself is a business killer, you can open up every workplace you like, if everything is operating at a one third capacity then they are finished.

If you want to open up the economy you aren't doing it with social distancing tying one hand behind business's backs.
