i think he has been charged with quite a lot of offences but using a taser in a petrol station in front of a child has been criticised.

Desmond Ziggy Mombeyarara, of Cornbrook Park Road, Old Trafford, was due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court accused of two counts of resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

Yes ,Why would you be out with a Child at 11 pm During lockdown ,??
Report casemoney May 8, 2020 6:30 PM BST
He admitted speeding; being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst unfit through drink; using a motor vehicle without insurance; and being outside without reasonable excuse during the lockdown.

Lovely bit of Parenting ...Pics of him heading into Court looks as fit as a fiddle .......

Did you see the state of the woman who filmed it?

5 minutes of fame.
Report darren_discombobulates_sports May 8, 2020 9:45 PM BST
the guy made no attempt to physically hurt the police, unnecessary use of the taser especially in front of his kid who will be scarred by that but will also grow up to resent the police. You would a taser to be used if he pulled out a knife or a gun, there could be more to it but on the face of it the policeman looked liked he just wanted to use his toy at first opportunity, he didn't even threaten to use it to make him be restrained, just went for it straight away, poor policing.
Report saddo May 8, 2020 9:49 PM BST
He looked a bit aggressive to me. He'd broken the law and was not compliant when apprehended, why would you wait to be attacked before grounding someone?
Report darren_discombobulates_sports May 8, 2020 9:55 PM BST
Since 2003 the police have been allowed to carry Taser guns. Carrying weapons comes with it a weight of responsibility: it’s essential that the police only use them when absolutely necessary, and that they follow correct procedure when they do. The police are allowed to use Tasers when they are faced with serious threat of violence and they consider that the use of the Taser is reasonable and proportionate to the threat they face. But we place a great deal of trust in them to know what constitutes a serious threat and how much force is ‘reasonable’. Being arrested or restrained can be a terrifying experience; when a weapon is used this can make it even more frightening – especially if it is used inappropriately or unnecessarily. Many people have been injured by Tasers during peaceful protests, when being arrested and when they have already been put in handcuffs. I The physical and psychological effects of a Taser can be serious, including:
Heart attack (especially when there is a pre-existing heart condition)
Breathing problems
Emotional trauma

based on the video, the response was definitely not proportionate.

Probably (might be) true But we barely get half the story.... So when you hear some of the mitigating circumstances.. I wonder what's all the fuss about? Confused

When the kiddy is in Therapy with ptss, Who's to blame?  100% Dad imo.

"it’s essential that the police only use them when absolutely necessary"

Have to agree with the view that this was excessive and trigger-happy.
That'll scar that kid for the rest of his life and he'll end up despising the police.

What I've seen from US cops is appalling...it's like a sport for them!

Is that before or after the tasering?
Report Cider May 9, 2020 5:26 PM BST
Blame the police and not the cnt who takes a child with them when drink driving, sounds about spot on the the age of the virtue signal. There's one reason the child witnessed that, his dad took him out on his crime spree.
Report Crisp77 May 9, 2020 5:31 PM BST
Lucky they didnt use tear gas. Everyone at the petrol station would have been filling up.
Report betting_masta May 9, 2020 5:48 PM BST
you give police a taser though and they will use it, appropriately or not. when adrenaline is running people will act impulsively

if that was america they would have shot him
Report darren_discombobulates_sports May 9, 2020 5:52 PM BST
it's nothing to do with virtue signalling, it's a clear case of right or wrong, you use a taser when absolutely necessary as there are many side effects or fatal consequences of using them, including heart attacks and death, it looked very unnecessary, it's a black and white answer, not a black and white debate.

In an age where criminals would shank a cop without giving it a second thought, do you think a baton suffices?

How can you judge if it was necessary or not from a short video filmed from a distance on a mobile? We do know however he was out at night drink driving with no insurance with his child. We also know if he wasn't out drink driving with no insurance with a child, the child would not have witnessed a tasering.

Moral of the Story , is dont go out Pished drunk with your Kid in the Motor

Apparently it's due to racism.

Anti-racism campaigners have staged a protest over police use of a Taser on a man at a petrol station.

A group of 15 protesters observed social distancing rules as they gathered at a petrol forecourt on Chester Road in Stretford where the incident took place.

Mobile phone footage widely shared on social media showed a Greater Manchester Police officer deploying a Taser on a man.

Among the protesters at the event staged by Stand Up to Racism on Saturday was Paul Davidson, a minister at the Church of God of Prophecy.

He said: "I am here because this news has outraged black people nationally.

"But if the immediate clip is anything to go by then people have questions to answer and we should expect answers as a community.

"This sort of behaviour should not be expected by anyone in a civilised society."
Report differentdrum May 9, 2020 7:53 PM BST
And his view on the parenting skills?

Hasn't that outraged anyone?
Report posy May 9, 2020 9:00 PM BST
Let's be honest the police have an impossible task dealing with these people. Every one of them with a criminal record should be rounded up and deported.

It's got fcuk all to do with the guy's colour - it was a despicable incident regardless of
whatever hue he was...and I hope there are some consequences for that trigger happy príck!

Trouble is...it'll obviously be blow up as a B/W issue to stir up even more racial bollox.

Hundreds of people get tasered. This is only a story because the perpetrator had his infant with him at the time. If perpetrators can't get tasered if they have a child with them whilst on their crime sprees, what's the logical extension of that conclusion?
Report Cider May 10, 2020 9:07 AM BST
