gazing up at the sky sitting in my back garden yesterday afternoon and i see what looks like a buzzard soaring over and circling the patch of waste ground near me ,it was high in the sky so cant be 100% certain but def not a crow, gull etc ,seen them at my caravan down the south coast but didnt think they were this far into the city .
Could of been a Red kite? Both Buzzard and Red kite are very common nowadays and both glide around in a circle motion. Best way to tell them apart is by their tail. Red kite has a forked tail and a Buzzard a rounded tail. A Buzzard's wing is also rounded at the end.

was down london area in october, and coming round m25 towards surrey, loads of red kites, but defo buzzards among them too. easy to spot in warm weather as climb high on thermals and criss -cross in sky with their mate. loads around here, ( south northumberland ) and pleasure to watch them.

we have had a red kite move into wood beside us, we disturbed it on monday by chance whilst walking through the bluebells (not a plastic palm tree in sight)
