Are they all in on the left wing conspiracy ^ Who wrote the thousands of lines of computer code and refused to release them? Who insisted that 'the UK is different' so has an IFR of 0.9% even though it is 0.2% to 0.36% else where? The numbers did not work out for him after other countries did not do lockdown and were just fine. It was becoming embarrassing him going in the media standing by his numbers and forecasts. He had to go so no more questions could be asked on why we locked down and we could climb out of it. I do not think we will get any of those other names from Imperial on the media defending it. |

Quite, this is nothing more than scapegoating. Telegraph has been sitting on it for a month. We reach the record deaths in Europe and a concerted effort in the rest of the paper to lift the lockdown so it was the right time to knife him. |

Scotland Yard will not take any action against Prof Neil Ferguson
Scotland Yard said Prof Ferguson had accepted responsibility for his error so they will not take further action. A statement for the force said: "We remain committed to our role in supporting adherence to Government guidance and have made it clear that our starting position is explaining the need to follow the regulations with anyone who is in breach in order to keep people safe and protect the NHS. It is clear in this case that whilst this behaviour is plainly disappointing, Professor Ferguson has accepted that he made an error of judgement and has taken responsibility for that. We therefore do not intend to take any further action." |

Wonder who was doing the spying on Ferguson? ^ Trump as well. He quoted the Ferguson report to justify his lockdown. |

By:
Trump has no power to either impose or lift a lockdown. That is the responsibility of state governors.

By:
Interesting you should say that because early on the press were trying to get him to invoke some sort of power to lockdown places like Florida.
He certainly quoted Ferguson's numbers early on in the crisis. |

lol, what an eejit to just blindly quote Ferguson's numbers instead of that of his own experts.
Was much more interested in quotes of the press trying to get him to invoke some sort of power to lockdown places like Florida though actually. |

As far as I know, the Imperial College numbers are if nothing at all had changed. I.e if there had been concerts, football games with fans, people smooching strangers on the streets, hugging, boasting about shaking hands etc. Something they deemed unlikely to be the case.
They also didn't vouch for a complete shutdown that prevented people from going to work, but more of a middle ground. |

![]() Why all the sexy ladies want epidemiologists, by Professor Neil Ferguson 6th May 2020 by Professor Neil Ferguson, faculty of medicine, Imperial College, London YES, I broke lockdown. But if you had any idea just how much triple-A **** you can get mathematically modelling the spread of disease, you’d understand. I deeply regret that I ignored the rules to see one of my many, many women. But since I entered infectious diseases in 2000 two weeks is the longest I’ve gone without a shag. Hell, two days is a drought. The day I modelled the spread of the foot-and-mouth outbreak, I got home and there was a girl I’d never seen before naked in my bed. ‘How did you get in?’ I spluttered. ‘You’re the prediction expert,’ she said, throwing off the duvet. ‘You tell me.’ And from that moment on I’ve been going at it like a new strain of influenza in a weakened immune system. A woman for breakfast, another for lunch, two overnight. That’s weekdays. At weekends, well, I go kind of crazy. It’s not my fault. The minute the chicks hear you’re an epidemiologist their panties hit the floor. There’s just something about studying virus transmission in large populations that demolishes every inhibition. Jennifer Lawrence, Penelope Cruz, Nicki Minaj – who was so obsessed with my work on the Zika virus that we had to break up, I was physically exhausted – they’ve all stripped off my lab coat at one time or another. So giving some married honey a booty call was of no more consequence to me than ordering a pizza. Sure, it was the best she’ll ever have, but to me? Wednesday. It’s probably for the best. I was on course to win a Nobel prize, and honestly? Not sure the old dick could take it. |

edy,
Done some trawling for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1XIXssA1xg Here he talks about it just after Florida did a stay at home order. You can here the press asking him to get everyone to do it. If you NEED the florida one from a few days before let me know. |

Thank you.
I think it's a tad of a stretch to describe that single question, from a single reporter (I think it's Kyra Phillips of CNN or ABC (wife of Fox News dude John Roberts), as the (overall) press trying to get Trump to invoke some sort of power to lockdown places like Florida. I was more imagining hordes of the press urging him to invoke all sorts of authoritarian powers. |

By:
Knowing CNN and their ultimate evilness, she just wanted to hurt his ego by making him admit that he doesn't have ultimate power.

Turns out she left CNN to be with ABC these days. She apparently earned herself quite some criticism from colleagues last summer for being grateful to Trump for allowing press questions in his eternal kindness.

[Imperial College epidemiologist Neil] Ferguson was behind the disputed research that sparked the mass culling of eleven million sheep and cattle during the 2001 outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. He also predicted that up to 150,000 people could die. There were fewer than 200 deaths. . . .
In 2002, Ferguson predicted that up to 50,000 people would likely die from exposure to BSE (mad cow disease) in beef. In the U.K., there were only 177 deaths from BSE. In 2005, Ferguson predicted that up to 150 million people could be killed from bird flu. In the end, only 282 people died worldwide from the disease between 2003 and 2009. In 2009, a government estimate, based on Ferguson’s advice, said a “reasonable worst-case scenario” was that the swine flu would lead to 65,000 British deaths. In the end, swine flu killed 457 people in the U.K. Last March, Ferguson admitted that his Imperial College model of the COVID-19 disease was based on undocumented, 13-year-old computer code that was intended to be used for a feared influenza pandemic, rather than a coronavirus. Ferguson declined to release his original code so other scientists could check his results. He only released a heavily revised set of code last week, after a six-week delay. https://statmodeling.stat.columbia.edu/2020/05/08/so-the-real-scandal-is-why-did-anyone-ever-listen-to-this-guy/ |
