Does it really matter if the economy hurts a little more when it's already in tatters? Leaving the EU without a comprehensive FTA after corona makes a lot more sense than doing so if corona had never happened.
I think, regarding pure economic numbers, there's a good chance that the UK will be able to stand up more quickly from SARS Mk.II after a clean-break Brexit at the end of the year than it would've been able within the EU or if it was to stay within the transition agreement. Whether that translates to better living conditions and satisfaction for the population is an entirely different question. We'll see. ![]() |

STFU edy with your inverted quasi-marshmallow reality. The UK has agriculture and manufacturing is at 2008 (pre-crash) out-put, totaling 20% of the UK economy. Never before has a country been so reliant on the service sector, with is uninhabited by EU regulations, which will extract a surplus that has been denied for so long.
Freedom to the slaervours! |

It's a pretty good time to advance what was the plan for Global Britain all along. Don't bother rebuilding anything non-service or science related, strengthen them further instead, deregulate and import yet more physical goods.
Naturally, not everybody will be happy if agricultural and manufacturing jobs are removed even more because they can not be competitive, but economically it makes sense to do what you do well (services, money launder) while you let others produce the goods that they can do cheaper. |

edy is the most unsophisticated poster on the planet. By 'Global' we really mean 'Jobs for English' people, and for those who aren't 'English people' we don't really count them anyway, never did, never will, but we can do without them anyway even if we can't because who's looking anyway, and even if people are looking we can grade them on the colour of their skin ((thankfully, I'm far more Aryan than Hitler!) (giggles! are you!))
