But we've hardly tested anyone

We've tested like less than 1% of the country population?

How do they know we are passed the peak then?

They were never even full IAWN

Those nightingale hospitals were nothing more than fear peddling to get people to obey the rules

But there's defiantly a 2nd wave coming, there's no way they can get away with not doing one

The numbers are pathetic for a world lock down
Report SontaranStratagem May 3, 2020 6:04 PM BST
No but the peak has passed when you look at the numbers case

Last week they were lower than the previous 2 weeks

But if the NHS is coming out and saying its well passed the peak then that's gospel?

But this thing is making no sense, the way it hit, the way it peaked and the way its "dropping"

As you say, we don't know how many people have been infected although it's probably around 2m, but the falling number of daily reported deaths and the numbers in hospital is evidence that we're over the peak.
Report SontaranStratagem May 3, 2020 6:21 PM BST
What about the dead who we don't know about?

The in house deaths we'll never know about
Report i_agree_with_nick May 3, 2020 6:26 PM BST
Yes but I would hope that these numbers are also falling.

After six weeks of lockdown, it would be odd if infection rates weren't falling.
Report i_agree_with_nick May 3, 2020 6:35 PM BST
Btw, will we ever know how many people have had the virus?

We've done about 1.1m tests but I don't know how many individuals have been tested.  How often should front line NHS staff be tested?  Ideally as often as possible.

I'm guessing we need to get through the Autumn and Winter before we can say we've passed the peak.. (flu's more likely to hit then) imo..
Report i_agree_with_nick May 3, 2020 6:37 PM BST
A peak is a peak.  I agree, the winter could be a difficult time but that will be another peak.

The flu will hit then Tongue Out
