It is interesting that, at the daily briefings, we are told that it is very difficult to make cross country comparisons, yet they continue to show a slide that does just that. Happy

Anyway, here is my updated daily average chart for the five largest European countries.
I have split the months of March and April in to three periods to generate daily average figures to provide some form of comparison.

Italy
Daily average new cases peaked in the final 11 days of March at 5,343 and has progressively fallen in the three subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 2,424 in the final ten days of April.

Daily average reported deaths have followed a similar path, peaking at 763 in the final eleven days of March, before falling to 385 in the final ten days of April. Total reported deaths to date is 27,967.

Active cases peaked at 108,257 on 19 April, falling to 101,551 by the end of the month.

Spain
Daily average new cases peaked in the final 11 days of March at 6,759 and has progressively fallen in the three subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 3,943 in the final ten days of April.

Daily average reported deaths peaked in the first ten days of April at 762, falling progressively in the in the two subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 369 in the final ten days of the month. Total reported deaths to date is 24,543.

Active cases peaked at 105,149 on 25 April, falling to 77,112 by the end of the month.

France
Daily average new cases peaked during the first ten days of April at 6,180 and has progressively fallen in the two subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 1,690 in the final ten days of April.

Daily average reported deaths peaked in the first ten days of April at 967, falling progressively in the in the two subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 411 in the final ten days of the month. Total reported deaths to date is 24,376.

Active cases peaked at 95,365 on 28 April, falling to 93,326 by the end of the month.

UK
Daily average new cases peaked during the middle ten days of April at 5,099, falling to 4,651in the final ten days of the month. Changes in the testing regime will likely have impacted the numbers currently being reported as positive, 6,032 new cases being reported on 30 April.

Daily average reported deaths peaked in the first ten days of April at 834, falling slightly in the in the two subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 772 in the final ten days of the month. Total reported deaths to date is 26,771.

The number of active cases is not publicly known, daily updates of the numbers of recovered patients not being provided by the UK authorities.

Germany
Daily average new cases peaked during the first ten days of April at 5,036 and has progressively fallen in the two subsequent ten-day periods, reaching an average of 1,594 in the final ten days of April.

Daily average reported deaths peaked in the middle ten days of April at 213, falling to 176 in the final ten days of the month. Total reported deaths to date is 6,623.

Active cases peaked at 72,865 on 6 April, falling to 32,886 by the end of the month.

These figures, of course, will not tell the full story. But they do provide some form of indicative guide to how each of these countries has been impacted during the last two months.

i think cases is tough to use as accurate comparison due to changing of testing.

deaths is tough too, as they are being hidden by lack of testing, that has then been
pumped up to massage figures.

the ONS figures are pretty telling as to our true position.

They've dug 13,000 mass graves in one cemetry in Sao Paulo alone.  Half the country ignoring lockdown and the PM shrugging it off as flu.

"Such is the stigma of the disease that many people in Latin America simply refuse to acknowledge that their loved ones died of COVID-19.  Even if the hospitals believe the victims did die of the virus, there is little testing taking place so the families simply don't acknowledge the official report."

Worldwide death figures clearly BS
