Its a factor its not an excuse ....plenty of places that have greater population density do not have our horrific numbers.  South Korea, Hong Kong & Singapore shine like a beacon because they took necessary measures early and they were aided by the self-discipline of the populations.

Those 3 countries have small populations and also populations that have been through various virus outbreaks
Therefore they are already drilled into protocols of mask wearing and social distancing.
They are really fearful too and that can be a good thing when combating a virus

the corona virus is bad enough but virtually everything else is on hold (NHS Scotland), try getting a face-to-face appointment with a GP I had one this am (after two weeks of trying) and they admitted virtually every other procedure unless you're on last legs or is absolutely essential has been postponed - they know its going to be bad, basically a timebomb once we get over this...
