Great TV ... the acting from all the main characters is exceptional ... there are always repeats on Ch 4 but well worth watching
One of my favourite episodes is "The Perfect Guy" - looked it up its Series 5 Ep 17

The 'ski lodge is my all time favourite, classic capers! The one where Frasier ends up on a date with his new male controller is a cracker and so is the one where marty ends up telling folk he is gay after a night at the opera!

Liked the Spa where they become gold members and want the platinum membership.
Niles is superb, the way and comments while he was chasing Daphne are all great 1 liners!
A real quality comedy.Luved them all.Liked the Spa where they become gold members and want the platinum membership.Niles is superb, the way and comments while he was chasing Daphne are all great 1 liners!
Agree with Geordie there. Bebe was outrageous and stole every show. Liked the one where she was trying to get him onto tv.
One of my fav scenes though was the funeral of some aunt or other when Frazier arranged Marty’s song for the choir to sing. Helping the young lad with his exams and Rob ends up going to the prom with the lad. Brilliant.

Totally fed up with the news so watching it every morning at the moment, still does it for me,2 that come to mind are "Roz and the Schnoz" when Roz meets the parents of the father of her baby,Marty's comment "Try Japan" springs to mind, and the other is a "Word to the wiseguy" when he counsels the mafia boss over his relationship.

Agree with you, Bebe was great. That one where Frasier replaces her with a good guy in a scout uniform and she drawls: "When there's a dirty job to be done, you can't go wrong with a Mormon"!

If I recall one of the first US comedies we got into. A breath of fresh air as Frazier is on much more than Cheers. I do like to watch a few episodes together. Can’t remember a particular favourite. Both were excellent tv.

Whisperingdeath - Yes, Cheers was ace for the time. There is an early Frasier when Sam visits - great - and a late one where the Crane clan go to Boston (not so great imo).

The whole fulcrum of the show was Niles chasing Daphne so they could build so many episodes around that and it allowed the characters to all become pivotal and necessary at different times When they eventually married that concept was lost and I think it drifted until such time as it was cancelled Nevertheless one of the top comedy shows of them all with great humour and dialogue which ebbed and flowed I hope they don't make any further episodes .. i doubt they'll have the original script writers ... Martin is gone and the others are all so much older so it doesn't appeal and may well fall flat on its face which would be a shame as it would spoil the memories of the essence of what was a genuine quality comedy series

First two seasons are good, third season is when the show truly finds it's voice, and up until Daphne's wedding every episode is gold, so five, six seasons, I think.
Show becomes pretty much any average comedy after that. Daphne becoming Maris wasn't something we needed to see.

like a lot of comedy series it went on far too long, bit like friends, after the 4/5 series it becomes a bit stale, but very good in it's hey day, never likes Seinfeld though, which was never really popular in the UK the same way the other 2 were.

The wedding episodes have been playing on C4 last couple of days.
I'll stick up for them, I thought they were great other than Roz was on the margins - her lines were poor.
But it's like the middle of a game of chinese chequers, really hard to move forward, and I thought they did it well. They didn't dodge Mel nor Donny's anger. The rooftop dinner, where Frasier acquitted himself, was so sweet.
My only criticism of the whole Frasier story was the ending of it - we never got to share five minutes of his happiness, which would have made it perfect for me.

I never cast a critical eye on the series, for me it was easy watching of the old British farce variety.

Yes, they took a lot from Brian Rix and Feydeau. In one door, out the other, misunderstandings abounding.
But there was a sentimental heart to Frasier. Most, if not all of the characters, had a "happy ending"; it was just Frasier's that I could have stood more of.

Mind you, I suppose Kelsey Grammer may or must have hoped to do better afterwards..
Remembering Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson ..
Not to think anything less of Frasier for those comparisons, still prefer his company.
