2 Irish people are testing the validity of the recent laws passed.
A healthy society has checks and balances on the executive branch of government. In the UK the legislature (with the exception of one or two)just rubber stamp whatever is put in front of them by the executive. The opposition parties are not fit for purpose. The media (with rare exceptions) have long lost their bite. The people have unquestioned trust in their government.
Their names are John Waters and Gemma O'Doherty. Are they genuine? I really hope so.
I haven't read this in depth but surely the greater "good" comes before any individual?
They seem to want to go outside and build up herd immunity.
Personally would like to see costs awarded against them .

They might have a case based on procedural or constitutional grounds. I don't know, nobody has heard their arguments yet. But what will likely happen is the case will be delayed until such time as a lot of the measures they are complaining about are no longer in place and their case will largely be a moot point. I doubt there is great enthusiasm amongst the judiciary to have it heard before then. They'd rather not have to hear or decide it at all.

O Doherty is an attention seeker and watters was once married to Sinead o Connor I think.
He was a decent journalist years ago and got a lot of praise for a piece he did fighting or exposing some cause i cant remember now but seems to just want to protest at every new bit of law or legislation now.
Somewhere along the line he went over the edge I feel.

O'Doherty used to be fairly moderate a couple of years ago, asked some good questions of government, but has increasingly turned into a far-right wing headbanger over the last few years and become very racist. She went into a Muslim halal butchers recently and recorded herself asking some guy behind the counter for sausages and rashers and why they weren't selling them when we like eating them over here.
Waters is a conservative catholic fundamentalist believed to be part of the Iona Institute. Anti anything that represents change like abortion, same sex marriage, divorce laws etc. Basically wants it to be like the catholic church did 50 years ago.

Waters was once a fine journalist and is liberally very conservative and lost his job cos his newspaper decided to go down the college students union rag route. Doherty was also a Journo but has lost the plot (She had personal tragedies in her life around the time she went off the rails. I feel sorry for her as she seems like she's had a mental breakdown. She even looks unwell)
In this case though, they are spot on and I genuinely hope they succeed. They won't though because Irish Justice is a comical joke and the legal eagles will ensure fees on both sides are racked up as high as possible.

Really Racingqueen? I heard 2 pubs were raided by the guards last night down in Midleton, shower of kants and their pints, aren't everyone going with the measures and suffering in order to preserve life? The whole thing is meant as temporary,go with it andget it over with instead of acting the bollix.

Brother said that to me there,i was stunned, i think that will happen too. Also said all the prisoners getting free netfix as well! not sure about that one.

Seems to be a severe shortage of liquorice in that neck of the wood as well, apparently the locals believe it kinda puts a barrier on the upper respiratory tract after eating it, maybe hence they are out skulling pints without a care in the world.

have you heard their arguments racingqueen? No you haven't because they're only seeking permission to challenge at this stage and they haven't even made their arguments on that yet.

I couldn't care less about their arguments. I do though agree with their endpoint on this. I think its an affront to freedom that people are forcibly locked up so morons on social media/politicians can make them selves feel good about "saving lives" when they are doing nothing of the sort and in many cases affecting many more people.
No one has any idea of the actual number infected. One Stamford professor claims the death rate is over played by 50-80 times based on a high asymptomatic rate in a field test he conducted. Irish health service claims the issue in nursing homes is high Asymptomatic rate making it hard to see who is infected
Decisions are being made without any recourse to proper data.
Look at that idiot Leo Varadkar tonight moaning about a spike in bus use (up from 50k to 56k on a single day). He has absolutely no proof of who is using the bus and why but it won't stop him from extending the lockdown and using it as an excuse. That other moron Des Cahill was tweeting about people travelling on the bank holiday and was called out as to whether he had any proof as to his claims that these people were travelling for a "weekend away".
Ken Foxe found today meetings at the Dept of Justice are being held verbally with no formal minutes being taken. Zero record on of these meetings available to the public. A disgraceful abuse of open democracy.
Simon Harris insinuated a few weeks ago that private nursing homes should sort themselves out as they were not under the HSE. A disgraceful abdication of responsibility for the people most vulnerable to this virus whilst people who were far less susceptible were locked up
Temporary?
Our great grandkids will be paying this cluster**k

Depends on your age RQ, I have a reasonably healthy father at 80,sees us thru a window, grandkids the same, we all want to hug him now but I'd rather see him next year from the window if needs be.
