Brilliant again this morning(9.30ish +!
Tore into some clueless lesser minister who was clueless in his answers, well done Piers. |

If that prick Morgan is the voice of the country we truly are fu**ed.
Surely everyone can see here is entirely self-serving? Even a clock that has stopped is right twice day. I'm not defending politicians here but please, please do not think Piers Morgan is anything but a sensation seeking, trouble-making ****. If he, and his fellow 'journos' (they are not really journalists), stopped hounding politicians and let them GET ON WITH IT, we'd be better off. Remember, a lot of politicians would much rather appear 'on telly' than do any real work anwyay. The UK is a pathetic country where 'soundbites' count for everything and real action for nothing. |

" where soundbites count for everything and real action for nothing"
Agree, at least that is being called out this morning, the general doing utmost, working 24/7 spiel is even losing the ability to fool the more guillible, someone has to call them out, that Clarke hadn't an answer to anything, whether he(Piers) is self serving is less important then right questions being asked. |
|

Any moron can ask difficult questions.
Getting things done is the hard part, I’ve every faith in Boris and his Government Morgan provides good telly to the morons who think they know better.....but they are just that morons with no clue, How to lead or organise.....just sit at home and criticise those trying to do their best. |

A goverment minister had no clue of the deaths of NHS workers,of care home deaths, and when the plane with ppe from Turkey that was promised Sunday would arrive, the UK manufacturers making ppe having to sell to Europe because of no goverment reply to them.
That is getting things done alright. |

I hope the role of the media is bought to the table when the enquiry into all this rolls out when we get through to the other side.
Personally, I think they've been an utter disgrace, misjudging the mood of the nation, asking the wrong questions and asking them in a hectoring manner, without listening to answers and shaping further enquiries inlight of answers they receive. Just banging on with their own agenda's in an arena where nobody has the playbook and are largely making the best of it as they go along. I think the public see the UK is no better or worse than the majority of the affected countries, accept that questions do need to be asked of politicians but that those politicians are doing their best, often in circumstances where they themselves or their nearest and dearest are suffering the effects of this awful disease and that the whole world is under attack, not just our little 2 square feet of turf and therefore things like the demand for PPE has to be viewed on a global demand level. That seems to have no traction with the likes of Morgan (just the mouthiest clown out there) who is desperate for peer approval and ratings. |
|
By:
If Morgan really was the bad-ass inquisitor he clearly sees himself as, why doesn't he ask about the questionable modelling of Imperial College and Neil Ferguson, which is informing the government's response to all this? Or the greatest attack on civil liberties this country has ever witnessed?
Much easier to try to get Matt Hancock to wear a hair shirt |

Hanx, where did you obtain your insights in to the views of the public ?
Is there a link to a recent survey that you can share with us ? |

Would not trust Morgan to empty my septic tank. He's a self serving tool of the first order. Surprised he's not starring on the 'who would you slap till your fn hands bled' thread.
|

By:
Morgan is nothing more than a thinking man's Danny Dyer. Only unintelligent people hold his opinions in any regard.
If you like Morgan then you probably also enjoy Farage. Idiots. |

Hanx, where did you obtain your insights in to the views of the public ?
Is there a link to a recent survey that you can share with us ? By talking to people. By monitoring my social media feed By noting that coup and insurrection is not in fact happening on the streets of the country. For sure there are folks up in arms about the government's response to this and I'm glad about that. It'd be a sinister world if there wasn't. However there was also a vocal minority, for example, predicting a landslide for The Labour Party at the last election and for Remain in the Brexit referendum. As for the empirical evidence you require, I confess I haven't got any, thus my use of the phrase 'I think' - i.e presented as an opinion. It's a generally accepted custom in a chat room and I apologise for not having anything more tangible / literal in my armoury. |

Piers is bad and often a terrible interviewer than just strawmans
Most on here love him because he just shouts at left/liberal types most of the time but every so often his stance is the opposite from what you'd expect |
|
By:
simon Clarke next door mp to me disgusting that in the middle of a pandemic morgan didn't ask Clarke about freeports, other than those money laundering tax havens Clarke like most of the tory stooges has nothing to say, at least 10 Brexit cabinet minister missing without leave gone AWOL, FOR 3 MONTHS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLDS BIGGEST CRISIS IN 75 YEARS, shameful, anyone seen notsocleverly lately
|
|
By:
Agree entirely Hanx
Media have been a disgrace, Morgan ....now followed by the Jeremy Kyle brigade. Morgan, Peston and co just ask ludicrous ridiculous question criticze and offer no positivity what’s so ever. |
|
By:
how many people have died in carehomes
would you work in a corona ward in a kagool whats ridiculous about them asking the questions the public want answering |
|
By:
Piers had Helen Whately nearly in tears this morning,i had a bit of sympathy for her as she seems to care,
however once again PM took her to task regarding playing down figures, the figure of supposed 41,000 covid deaths is a startling one,i understand delays towards getting an accurate figure but at the same time i think it is also being underplayed for political means. |
|
By:
I don't like Piers Morgan but at least he is asking relevant questions about the handling of the crisis
Some idiot on the thread saying its easy to ask difficult questions & is upset that he does so which is absurd ... We want some answers & you only get them by asking the necessary questions however they are framed The words of John Crace on the completely unremarkable Olivia Dowden could never be more apt - "That he is now in the cabinet speaks more of the quality of the others than any talents Dowden has so far kept well-hidden" |
|
By:
In Morgan's case, I think the words of Mark Twain are more appropriate; "It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt."
|
|
By:
Good man Piers, Brandon Lewis the latest in the list to look totally incompetent and clueless, one after another tory minister unable or unwilling to have facts at hand and taking to task for spewing out pure bs.
|
|
By:
I am seriously concerned these Ministers are being sent in to take one for the team.
They are not able to provide answers the most obvious questions like how many NHS staff or Care Staff have died. |
|
By:
You get who the electotate vote for
Would Labour do any better ... they couldn't do worse |

the tory Brexit machine doris, cummings, rees mugg, notsocleverly, scully, sunak, gove, truss, etc havnt had a glove laid on them, the expendables are taking all the flak and when lockdown getting lifted, brexit comes on the floor of commons the top order will come out to bat, unscsathed, whilst the foot soldiers are sacked, removed, demoted
|
|
By:
Difficult questions have to be asked by Labour but in a measured way as Starmer did yesterday ... in a crisis the pulic want reassurance more than the usual vitriol we get in the Commons
Confront the issues; ask the questions ... dissect the replies and reveal the inadequacies of the measures Gov't have taken .. and tell the people how you would act |
