More men are alcoholics but this is a social factor.
Society is changing though. As far as youths go in the USA 227,000 girls and 173,000 boys have AUD. |

women are designed by evolution to cope more ...they brought up the children
mens evolution meant men were faster and stronger ...men weren't designed to cope ..they just had to be good at throwing spears |

Why women?
But why are women more likely to experience anxiety than men? It could be because of differences in brain chemistry and hormone fluctuations. Reproductive events across a woman’s life are associated with hormonal changes, which have been linked to anxiety. The surge in oestrogen and progesterone that occurs during pregnancy can increase the risk for obsessive compulsive disorder, characterised by disturbing and repetitive thoughts, impulses and obsessions that are distressing and debilitating. But in addition to biological mechanisms, women and men seem to experience and react to events in their life differently. Women tend to be more prone to stress, which can increase their anxiety. Also, when faced with stressful situations, women and men tend to use different coping strategies. Women faced with life stressors are more likely to ruminate about them, which can increase their anxiety, while men engage more in active, problem-focused coping. Other studies suggest that women are more likely to experience physical and mental abuse than men, and abuse has been linked to the development of anxiety disorders. Child abuse has been associated with changes in brain chemistry and structure, and according to previous research, women who have experienced sexual abuse may have abnormal blood flow in the hippocampus, a brain region involved in emotion processing. |

When you are trying to breathe (albeit this isn't applicable if you are on a ventilator) panicking can't be a positive

that's mostly academic claptrap you typed out there ... most stressful situations with women are in areas where men don't tend to frequent ..we have quite easy lives and as i said before ,we are generally smarter than women, so by design can problem solve better ...we are more familiar with how things work
if a pipe leaks in my house i know how to fix it / the right steps to make ,women aren't as practical .... their brains work differently ,therefore they will feel anxious it's nothing to do with mental strength |

How come drug addicts have not been wiped out by this virus? they have worst health of any sub group and their living conditions are by far the worst of any other group yet they are still going about their business as normal.

Living in clusters; worshipping in clusters; sharing living conditions; socialising within community; bigger family = greater risk. All these no doubt will have a significant say in why Covid-19 is more prevalent within this group of people.

totally agree impossible. There are several rational and logical reasons why they would be more affected.
Whether it's genetic on top would be revealed with blanket testing and looking at the proportion of infected people from each background who end up dying. |

South East Asia (SEA) countries do have a mix of nationals eg Chinese, Indian/Pakistani, Eurasian, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, etc (but very few black people), and they also do live in close proximity with one another. I wonder how they compare with their counterparts over in the UK.
I do not think it's determine by the health service they receive because those in SEA are worse facilitated. i do not think it genetic either. Oh well, more scarce resources "wasted" on the survey, I'd imagine. |
