Could the incumbent President Trump lose this? His handling of Covid-19 is pants; America has the highest death rates in the world, and more than Italy. He banned flights arriving from China and elsewhere very earlier on, but did absolutely nothing in the two months prior to Covid-19 took a grim hold in March.

From as short as 1.64 he'd be backed at 2 now, and was as high as 2.3 just a few days ago. Could Covid-19 be his Waterloo?

The Don romps it, so the underlying value of 2.0 is massive. BUT!!! The market`s hated him for five years, forever underrating his chances, with Clinton being 1.09 for 2016, so we`re likely to see considerable volatility in his price between now and the election, as the recent 1.6x to 2.3x shows. Was he really more than two times as likely to lose, all of a sudden, as those prices suggest? Of course not, but symptomatic of ridiculously inept political markets, where he`s been matched as high as 5.0!!!

No; an`inept` market is simply wrong and inefficient, whereas a `volatile` market can be entirely efficient, all the while accurately reflecting the volatility of circumstances and events. Political markets tend to be both

I don't follow politics at all...`

US politics, at least in the era of The Don, is the best entertainment on earth; highly dramatic, frequently hilarious, good conquering evil, etc, better than any soap or box set, entirely unscripted, who knows what happens next but it could be anything. And it`s all REAL! It actually, and quantifiably, affects our very existence and you can bet on it all, into inept and volatile markets? Great fun!

Hey, Jolly, fond memories of previous skirmishes

They should change the format of the debates.
A round of rock/paper/scissors could be followed by a bout of arm wrestling then a gunfight at the OK Corral.

hello tim, hope you are well.

i would ask if you are still taking vast quantities of drugs but having seen your input to the trump thread there really is no need to.

i am surprised you havent been added to the clinton 'kill' list.

specials look well and truly dead, you would think c5 could find some dummies, test them for covid and throw them in a house for a month or two.

I should have said US politics, I have taken a bit of interest in UK politics in very recent years. US appears incomprehensible from a metaphorical distance. Though of course, even though I'm still working from home, there's a bit more free time so I will possibly get involved.

I think the games are a great idea. They should simply play games. Games that challenge the cognitive ability - a round of Simon maybe? Games that show a huge degree of strategic ability - Connect Four anyone? Games that demand trade management - Catan.

The person who comes out as winner should forfeit his candidacy.

His handling of COVID-19 has bought home to me that he is the embodiment of narcissism.  A complete and utter egotist, who's only concern is himself, even in the most desperate of times.  I never liked him, but it washed over me.  Seeing him in person handling this brings home what a **** he is.  He has good people around him though and the US are handling this better than the UK, despite the limited narcissist in charge.  And we should remember that Americans saw him every day 4/5 years ago and voted him in.

Infanticide going unpunished?

Well, here`s dem Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, positively advocating it, wanting to legislate for it!

"So in this particular example, if a mother's in labour, I can tell you exactly what would happen," he told WTOP's Ask the Governor programme Wednesday. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that's what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother."

`A discussion`? A discussion about what? Who kills the new-born baby? And in which way they commit this infanticide? It`s referred to as `10th-month abortion`

It's a contest of the geriatrics. Both look as if they belong in a care home. How the hell could America have sunk this low when China is in its ascendancy?

One thing opponents of President must do is remind him of the Covid-19 death rates in America. The bloke did absolutely no prep after banning flights into America two months ago. And, now he's predicting some states could open this month; he even claimed he'd ultimate say in deciding when states are opened for business, but has now conceded his powers are limited to issuing guidelines.

I think President Trump is too obsessed with the Election.

if someone with an internet connection near hua hin can guess, as quite a few others did, the idea that western governments who spend billions watching what happens in other countries couldnt see what was going on doesnt stand up jucel. china didnt close down half their economy to fight the flu.

trump knows how to play the game like no one i have ever seen, his opponents dont seem to know how to handle him. what p1sses me off is that he does see some things that are unjust (like our trading relationships) but his answers are ill thought out, reactionary and counter productive.

the who leadership are jokers but that is just deflecting from his own failings, good politics that will rile up the base but achieve nothing in the fight against this disease.
