Absolutely
Not going to live in fear |

By:
Yes bring it on, the sooner the better

Fear, isolation, debt, mental illness, and worry, will kill more than the virus, especially among the fit and healthy.

Wont be changing one thing. If they decided to reopen the pubs tonight id be there for a pint.

If the government made the wearing of seatbelts voluntary, would you choose not to wear one when travelling in a motor vehicle ?
|
|
By:
That implies I wear a seat belt purely because the state made them compulsory.
You seem to struggle with the idea that some people arent even moderately worried about this virus. Incidentally did you see the ONS stats this morning about what made up 91% of the deaths? |
|
By:
A somewhat tetchy response.
|
|
By:
Not at all. You know that im not worried about this so why would I change anything I do any more than smokers or drinkers dont stop even though they know they are taking a risk.
|
|
By:
Ok, in that case, would you wear a seatbelt or not ?
There was no implication in the question, for all I know you may not drive or currently drive without a seatbelt. As for me struggling to understand the idea that some people aren't even moderately worried about this virus, you couldn't be more wrong, I very much understand that some people aren't even moderately worried about this virus, that's the bit that worries me. |
|
By:
I wear a belt because i judge it to be a sensible thing to do not because its compulsory. You could of course argue that if pubs were open (as in my earlier post) the Government would be saying they were safe to attend so whats the issue.

Ever since this event started Angoose has been all over it like a rash posting up ridiculous graphs and figures without any evidence to back it up
![]() Anyone can make a graph and present it angoose I could do the same and I could get it down to suit my personal argument Like the one you posted on the other thread with regards to 5 year average death, the spike has gone level with the same spike we saw a few years back, so I could claim its not as bad as it was then |

I'll treasure the ability to wander around leisurely anywhere and anytime without fearing something untoward (not mugging) will come to me because of Covid-19. But, I'll take it cautiously at the beginning until death and admission rates in hospitals and care homes are significantly lower and permanent.
I also work and re-consolidation of finances will hopefully follow. |

Will be a sad world we return to if we Ever do , People sprinting across the road if they see another Human Being as it is ,Life will never be the same Coughing and Sneezing will still cause
panic ....Avoidance will still be a priority for many , No difference for 90 % of the posters on here ![]() |

Initially very probably eg people on the street avoiding one another. But, the comics will be in their element. Imagine the material available courtesy of Covid-19? The comedy venues will be packed for a long while.

Wont be changing one thing. If they decided to reopen the pubs tonight id be there for a pint Do any of you seriously think it will be safe to go to the pub when lockdown Is loosened? Because if you do you may be in for a nasty accident the morning after you do. and that is all I have to say about that! |
|
By:
Whats that supposed to mean?

They all think they can follow their macho leader ... that went well didn't it

I think some people think they will live forever. The average life expectancy years ago was 40, it's now just under 80 and for many, a vast number of those years near the end are spent in ill health with no quality of life. We are dodging bullets each day of cancer, heart disease, accidents, dementia etc etc in a finite life with no discernible purpose other than what we see fit. The statistical risks associated with this virus for the vast majority of people do not warrant the tales of terrified people locked in wardrobes shaking in terror when the postman arrives.
|
|
By:
Agree totally with you wolf..best post on this thread by a country mile.
|
|
By:
Why are they scared of the postman ???
|

I've just come back from walking the dog.The footpath i was walking on was 20ft wide.A couple jogging towards me, fearfully stepped off the footpath into the road to avoid me(not much chance as they were 30ft away from me by now ) and virtually got wiped out by the Von Trappe family on their push bikes.
Oh how i laughed. |
|
By:
I fear that we will all be forced to have table service in pubs but the way it should be is that if you are worried never go out again and don't spoil life for those of us who want to live life not live in fear .

I was in my local shop earlier with a young girl serving customers - smile on her face, no mask , her whole life before her yet we have young/middle aged people holed up ordering online groceries too frightened to go to the shops or leave the house. Heart problems with lack of exercise will get them long before Corona will

by going out
I bet you pubs,,eateries around hospitals that are known to be frequented by nhs staff, havnt got the phone buzzing or queues poutside to get in, the bravehearts wilkl be the ones in aldi with masks and hazma suits on,polling today shows 80% of people are happy to czarry on with lockdown and we no for a fact care homes, hospitals wont have been poll;ed ,which suggests plenty of under 50,s are happy to carry on,there,s not that many gagging for a pint, coffee that landlords, barrista,s are stood by their front waiting to sprint to their high street to open up |

The longer they hide, the older they get, the worse their odds of surviving it.

By:
schools that stayed open for essential workers kids have seen their numbers dwindle that its not worth them opening you can open what you like but you cant force people to use them
|
|
By:
Where is a link to this "poll " then showing 80% are happy in lockdown- wouldnt be a poll presented by the government would it?
|
|
By:
I think I understand you now but im not sure what a prepared yogi is? Sorry dot, I am not prepared to give that information away just yet! Is what I typed kinda Anyway I might like to refer you to a thread by Jucel about 50 odd million pints of beer The bottom line is the bottom |

By:
the poll is in mail for mail by redfield and Wilson,it also shows over 405 of those 80% admit the lockdown is hurting them financially ,mentally etc
|
|
By:
2 knicker bet and a pint with tim martin in the pond might be a must on here ,but most of the population can give them a miss in normal times ,never mind when their families lives are on the line
|
|
By:
I havent a clue what "mail for mail by redfield " is and 405 of an unquantified number of those apparently happy people financially and mentally affected doesnt strike me as proof of anything.
