You may own the house but you never own the land. That belongs to the Queen. If they want to put HS2 through your land/property you can't do a thing about it. Also, if you owned the land why would you need planning permission to build on it?
Her maj owns everything except the Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster. Also she "owns" all of the lands in countries within the commonwealth. I think it's about 6.6 billion acres of habital land. Find a goldmine in your back garden... it's Lizzies. |
