Admitted to hospital for treatment on an infection, routinely tested for coronavirus which came back positive despite showing none of the described symptoms.it does make you wonder how many of us are sitting in our homes feeling ok but are actually carrying the virus.

Of course.

I've read several different reports stating that the percentage of cases which could be asymptomatic. I think they vary from around 17% to 80%.
Report politicspunter April 11, 2020 12:47 PM BST
Did he have the virus before he was in hospital though?
Report Fire-and-Ice April 11, 2020 12:48 PM BST
Did he follow the guidelines?
Self-isolation and 2 meters?
Have they asked?
Report i_agree_with_nick April 11, 2020 12:49 PM BST
Having said that, I heard a doctor or scientist say a couple of days ago that she believed the number of actual cases in the UK was still in "low single figures" (in percentage terms).

So, maybe a maximum of 3m?

So we could still have the virus even if we feel wellSad...sneaky this virus

Deinitely, uble.

I don't know if you were unaware of this or just emphasising my point but if you didn't know, how many people out there don't?
Report UBLE/REGY April 11, 2020 12:59 PM BST
Yes I was unaware, and I should think so are a lot of other people NickSad

have any of the experts who reckon people who show no symptons, but might be big spreaders, offered any answers to how you spread it if your not producing the droplets to pass on to others, Confused, com
Report BARROWBOY April 11, 2020 1:03 PM BST
I would suggest that’s one fact the govt aren’t keen to publicise, wouldn’t exactly help in people’s attitude to the lockdown.
Report i_agree_with_nick April 11, 2020 1:04 PM BST
I don't know but we are told they can definitely pass it on.

I would presume from droplets from a routine cough or sneeze.  Or maybe from saliva?  I don't know.

some might think its the 1st question you,d put to the experts, would suggest it just spreads like normal flu, which the speed and distance, countriues travelled would make complete sense as against the smearing, infecting yourself with droplets because of not washing hands etc
Report 1st time poster April 11, 2020 1:07 PM BST
well if your coughing ,sneezing your showing symptons

a cough from someone testing positive is considered a symptomatic  ,because its considered routine because its not accompanied by a high temp

fook me you can alter the fruels to make everyone A SYMPOMATIC, ridiculous

We all cough and sneeze occasionally; maybe due to pollen, dust, food, drink, pollutants, cigarette smoke, post-nasal drip...

after 8 weeks of 24/7 coverage daily press conferences 10,s of different experts everyday .you,d think one of the 100,s of so called countries best journo,s with 2/3 questions each, might manage to ask this one, but thar ya go
Report i_agree_with_nick April 11, 2020 1:17 PM BST
Yes, it's a good question.

There are some answers in the link I've posted but I suspect that because this is a new virus we don't really know for sure.
Report i_agree_with_nick April 11, 2020 1:19 PM BST
...and tbf, someone probably has asked the question, maybe to a guest on a radio show, but it hasn't reached a wider audience.

If so many don’t have symptoms it makes me wonder what the test is looking for ..

WHAT is fearfully thought to be Covid-19 is just a harmless and beneficial enzyme naturally produced in the body to fight toxin: the exosome.

This is the professional conclusion reached by Dr. Andrew Kaufman, M.D., an American qualified physician who aired his professional view through a video uploaded on Youtube.

The long but excellent video is here:

I read his autobiography. He said if there was a guy behind him he'd time it and deliberately jam his arse back into their crotch to put them off and get/keep possession. Makes sense, hard to spot never mind foul for, obviously worked.

I tried his the other day when fighting for possession of some toilet roll and it worked beyond my wildest dreams. I got that 9 pack of Andrex, and me and James are planning a spring wedding Wink.

Nobody ever said a single cough was a sign ffs. They gave guidelines like coughing repeatedly, like a number of times during the day or coughing for a solid period. This has been talked about everywhere...

Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has been released from hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

Dalglish, 69, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday for treatment of an infection which required intravenous antibiotics.

He was routinely checked for coronavirus and tested positive despite showing no symptoms.

The former Celtic and Scotland forward is now recovering in self-isolation at home.

"People may think my name got me the best of care but every patient in the NHS gets the best of care," Dalglish told The Sunday Post.

"As a nation, we are lucky to have them and I wish them all well as they work tirelessly to help the country through this pandemic."
