Does not seem to apply to the media whos regurgitated story from the day before seems to require a physical presence on the streets

They are essential as they are providing a service to the public with regular update about events concerning Covid-19 and activities of our government. Also, I've noticed there are fewer outside broadcast too.

How is scaring the living daylights out of the public providing a "service"

They've rocked up everywhere in this as well, walking through the streets of Italy (with no mask on), they've rocked up in Spain, they've rocked up in New York (Gone strangely quiet today as New York), they have yet to rock up at the nightinggale hospital though

Just like the war reporters in the thick of the action. They are merely doing a job; considered brave at times and (foolish).

Not to mention pointless

Told there is a desperate shortage off PPE kit, but it's not so scarce that the NHS can't fully kit out some media merchant whenever another report from a ICU ward is requested.
BBC news has been doing a daily report from inside one such ward, take it every time the crew arrive they have to be fully knitted out, one day this week they did their usual report on the main news -fully kitted in PPE- followed by the local news with BBC doing exactly the same gig -fully kitted - in the local hospital, WTFs that all about.
But not enough PPE kit to go round in nursing homes apparently.

It's the same  story every day we know what's going on no need for senseless repetition no wonder msn is dying on its Rs.
Trump Brexit and now this virus has kept a dying industry on life support for the past few years

'macarony', I concur reporting the same happening each day is tiresome for viewers nonetheless necessary to not let the public forget the viciousness of the virus, and the pressure the NHS staff are under. Hopefully, the dire pictures will deter them behaving foolishly or selfishly.

I think the resourcefulness of media companies will allow them to easily obtain PPE for their staff reporting from the frontline.
Report potlis April 10, 2020 6:13 PM BST
If they can "easily obtain PPE" they should be donating it to those who have no choice but to be on the "frontline"

Ironic, as I type, the BBC news is once again reporting NHS criticising the lack of PPE. but apparently the BBC can obtain it easily, I don't think anyones naive enough to believe they arrive with their own kit, in fact there's shots of NHS staff dressing them.

it's not just about "the viciousness of the virus" though, is it. It's main objective is to carry out a procedure that Mao Zedong helped invent

Your hibernation seems to have given you funny thoughts? Maybe in collaboration with the naughty boy of Salisbury - their neighbour.
