A long read, but well worthwhile, and I’d highly recommended that you take the time to read and absorb the information it contains.
Before doing so, however, set aside any pre-conceived ideas and resist the temptation to jump to conclusions. |

An interesting read which proves what a load of bollox the British public have been told.
Misled and lied to, leading to masses of deaths... People should never ever vote Tories in again, ever, what a total utter disgrace. Still the lies flow on a daily basis, the plateau, the green shoots, the PPE, the ventilators, my dearest god what a moronic bunch of crooks and lying filth leading the decent folk of Britain to their graves. |

Between February 13 and March 30, Britain missed a total of eight conference calls or meetings about the coronavirus between EU heads of state or health ministers - meetings that Britain was still entitled to join. Although Britain did later make an arrangement to attend lower-level meetings of officials, it had missed a deadline to participate in a common purchase scheme for ventilators, to which it was invited. Ventilators, vitally important to treating the direst cases of COVID-19, have fallen into short supply globally. Johnson’s spokesman blamed an administrative error.

Interviews with more than 20 British scientists, key officials and senior sources in Johnson’s Conservative Party, and a study of minutes of advisory committee meetings and public testimony and documents, show how these scientific advisers concluded early the virus could be devastating.

An executive at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Oxford said he could have carried out up to 1,000 tests per day from February. But the call never came.
YOU COULD NOT SURVIVE IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR WITH THIS RECORD IT'S A COMPLETE FAILURE TO SAFEGUARD THE BRITISH PUBLIC |

“Our country remains extremely well prepared,” Johnson said as Italy reached 79 deaths. “We already have a fantastic NHS,” the national public health service, “fantastic testing systems and fantastic surveillance of the spread of disease.”
HOW DAMNING CAN IT GET............LIES ..................WHAT TESTING/WHERE IS IT |

By:
“You would have thought that they would be bashing down the door,” said the executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity. By April 5, Britain had carried out 195,524 tests, in contrast to at least 918,000 completed a week earlier in Germany.

They know that if they ramp up the testing a very high percentage of nurses and doctors who are in the front line will test positive to the virus, but they also know that they can not afford to let doctors and nurses isolate and reduce front line staff.
its lambs to the slaughter and they know this,so they make excuses why testing will always be done tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes. And they will still mention green shoots in every interview to hide what is really being planned. |

IT IS MURDER, CAN'T USE ANY OTHER WORD................

What I took from the article is that policy was driven by a group of scientists who were very reluctant to recommend anything that would sound drastic or be a break from past policy, and that ministers were for weeks being told the risk of a serious epidemic here were low.
|
|
By:
You can have another look Tobermory, 16th of March Neil Fergusons model showed that their herd immunity policy was in fact was putting the death rate at over half a million, the NHS won't be able to cope, then and only then the policy shifted.....too f late.
|
|
By:
Cheltenham going ahead will probably cost 5000 deaths
|
|
By:
So if I have another look I will find that policy was not driven by a group of scientists
![]() Is Neil ferguson a scientist or a Tory Minister ? Did Ferguson suddenly get involved on March 16th or was he giving advice that shaped policy all along ? The headline of the thread kind of indicates what the article contains. |
|
By:
that ministers were for weeks being told the risk of a serious epidemic here were low.
I do not know how they could come to that conclusion. The virus has resulted in epidemics everywhere else. Perhaps they thought the virus cannot swim the English Channel????? |
|
By:
They knew the end of January, you could not miss it.........
BUT HE WANTED BREXIT GLORY FIRST, THE TORIES FAILED TO ACT, THEY KNEW A COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR LIFE |
|
By:
Every single doctor and nurse should refuse to go to work unless the get a Neil Armstrong suit to protect themselves, and the government needs to cut out these plastic aprons, and every Doctor AND Nurse deserve to be tested now today.test test test, the government were told 6 weeks ago,but as i say they tell you they intend to ramp up testing tomorrow, its always tomorrow.
many many more will die if they don't contact test. ![]() |
|
By:
Who knew by the end of January ? The scientists as late as Jan 30th updated the risk level from 'low' to 'moderate'.
So scientists do not see a high risk but Tory politicians are supposed to figure it out by themselves and overrule them..... |
|
By:
U/R we are talking about mid to late January, there were no cases in Italy et al at that time
|
|
By:
Eeerrrrmmm the whole world knew on december 31st
|

By:
China probably knew on november 30th
|

tober try reading it again
|
|
By:
Yes everyone knew on December 31st that there would be millions of cases/ tens of thousand dead /economic shutdown ( except Trump and the Tories)

I think one of my main memories of all this won't be the lockdown, it'll be the final proof of just how disgusting the little hateful lefties politicising all this, rewriting history over and over, and spouting total bilge 24/7. Bigotry and prejudice to the max.
Talking of the low life amongst us with agendas. The grauniad today reached a new low btw. No sh1t, this on in their opinion today: "If coronavirus doesn't discriminate, how come black people are bearing the brunt" Apparently coronavirus is RACIST. (By Hirsch, the **** stirring professional victim who was having go at churchill a couple of years ago with a tirade of lies and nonsense) |
|
By:
I read it closely. It is very clear that policy was determined by a group of scientists, and they broadly agreed on the seriousness of the situation and the steps that would be recommended to ministers. There were one or two that called it right but they were in a minority.
I am not seeing anywhere that the scientists recommnded a course of action and ministers said no. It seemed to be Whitty who downplayed the need for testing. |
|
By:
The one thing that has come across that the GOVT got right IMO is the worry they had that in this country the public can't stand to abide by the rules of lock down for any length of time. Just taking this forum as a guide, they were right about that.
|
|
By:
IT's so ironic the lefties acuse others of hate, pretty much 90% of it comes from them these days.
|
|
By:
the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, SAGE, had recommended that day, with no dissension recorded in its summary, that the UK reject a China-style lockdown. SAGE decided that “implementing a subset of measures would be ideal,” according to a record of its conclusions. Tougher measures could create a “large second epidemic wave once the measures were lifted,” SAGE said.
So the lockdown was a bad idea according to the scientists (March 12th) |
