The EU is more important than the UK.
It is more important that the the EU prospers than that the UK prospers. |

The fact that I took rapid financial action to the protect my family from becoming poorer because of moisok (and others) voting for Brexit seems to nettle him. So, I must repeat: through these hard times, my family will always be all right.

The German army has given 60 mobile ventilators to the UK. A ploy to beg us not to leave the cesspit of EU? 60...but only asap - what a gesture!

Norway sent medics and nurses to Italy, and Taiwan helped us with ventilators. But, the Germans banned the export of PPE to other EU members; EU member gazumped one another for PPE; Germany and Netherlands opposed to share the expense of tackling Covid-19 (in Italy) or any EU member. Instead they proposed a "loan" to be repaid later rather than an EU Covid-19 central fund.
At a time like the present every country esp those in close proximity ought to help one another whenever possible, and now just confined to membership of the Federal State of Europe only. In the case of Italy that did not happen either - money is paramount. |
|
By:
The holders of the money will naturally want to maintain their current advantage over the others when this is done. What if Italy can't repay any loan, will they be asset stripped like Greece?

nothing compared what china will be up to - europe up for sale !!!
a most satisfying conclusion for the chinese government I am learning mandarin as fast as I can go I know where the money is when the chips are down - and yes the chinese do chips as well |

The Norwegian medical staff were volunteers that were deployed to Italy through an EU programme that Norway is a member of. They were not "sent" by Norway per sé. Medical staff from other countries, including Germany, also went to Italy on a voluntary basis.
EU countries, including Germany, sent tons of PPE stuff to Italy. If you want to mutualise debt, you also have to mutualise the budget policies. For that, you'd need a union that is a lot closer than it currently is. Not all members seem to be willing to give up sovereignty over their budgets. |

'moisok', you are too old to be learning Chinese now. You'd be better off boycotting products from China, but not the Chinese food in your local takeaways/restaurants. The Chinese outside China are no friends of the Chinese government otherwise they'd have flocked home ages ago - China is a booming and a land of many opportunities.
EU = Nationalism before Solidarity. Even the big hitters eg Germany and France cannot agree; Germany and Netherlands vs France and Italy. |

- A few here must be disappointed the Eu has agreed the 470 BN bailout fund. Italy is going nowhere as it is in bad need of EU help and will get it and they know it.
- Also, its a bit tiresome that the EU-bashing persists even post-Brexit. Very clear some think Brexit is only a real success if EU breaks-up, its as if the UK alone leaves then somehow it wont be complete. Fact is UK will break-up long before EU ever will. Brexit is old news for EU - most countries just want to see the back of us, we are not that important - A thank you to Germany for sending us ventilators might be a bit more dignified than complaining its a devious plan to keep us in the EU. As I said I can actually understand some of it. Some of it must have been disappointing for europhiles. I just find it a bit silly that those who have been shouting "OUR MUNNIES!!!!!!!! OUR LAWS!!!!!!!!! OUR SOVEREIGNTY" the loudest for years as part of the brexit debate are now bemoaning that the EU is potentially not using the crisis to dramatically advance an ever closer, potentially irrreversible, union by mutualising debt (and with it budgets). |
