"the break up of the eu is the next big crisis "
Yes I've been reading lots of commentators saying this has been a disaster for the EU, not just a couple Eurosceptics, commentators in the EU, in the US etc. Basically the northern countries leaving Spain/Italy out to dry and the PI[-G]S countries thinking a whole lot of "well **** you then". Italy was already well fecked off. It's a lack of solidarity and help in time of need .. I'm sure, despite being able to enjoy the huge unheard of current economy and job saving injection solidarity from being part of the UK, money that it would never have been able to afford itself if it had went independent in 2014 with the huge deficit and lack of ability to get cheap credit (a bailout the EU would never have given), as oil hits 18 year lows and yet more job losses there look to be coming, the SNP will STILL want Scotland to leave and join the EU. |

Refusing to issue bonds to help the effected countries.
At the same time Trump in America is going the opposite way getting trillions in federal bonds to help the states. Countries like the Netherlands think why should we pay for Italy and Spain? The big difference is people in Idaho think of themselves as Americans. People in the Netherlands think themselves as Dutch. The Federal EU was never going to work due to this. Been a massive costly experiment on the many but it has enriched the lucky few. |

Perhaps the EU should fracture into say 3 looser unions. The Latin or Southern union (PIGS), the Northern union (Germany/Netherlands/Denmark etc), and the Eastern union (Visegrad group plus Baltics). They might all be happier..
The Germans might want the Northern Union called the Central Powers of course ![]() ![]() |

I think T=there is a 3 tier Europe eg Premier, JAM and Pariah; Covid-19 has exposed their ideology "all for one, and one for all". It's more like me (Premier) 1st, the rest 2nd eg a ban on ppe exports by Germany; gazumping on acquisition of ppe; the closing of borders, etc - some non_EU countries were still opening their borders to foreigners.
Did we see medics from Germany, France and Netherlands helping out Italy or Spain? Nope, Romania and Norway; Germany, France and Netherlands can talk-the-talk but walk-the-walk is a totally different matter. Self-preservation precedes any agreed policy within the EU. |

Even the BBC reporting the EU are a joke...
"The European Union risks failing as a project in the crisis, Italy's PM tells the BBC" It took a worldwide virus pandemic for you remain mongs to see it lol. |

I fully understand the criticism from eurolovers, but from eurosceptics that have been all us and only us for years, yay control over our money, boo anything paneuropean, boo less economic powerful pariah states, boo giving a cent to anything about the EU or other countries (foreign aid)...it seems a tad silly.
In particular the issuing of eurobonds is a big step away from national sovereignty. A good step for the federalists. Weird to see the EU enemies come out in support for a step towards less sovereignty. |

...and, maybe unsurprisingly, I somehow have some minor doubts if they'd support it if the UK was still a member of the EU
|

One also has to ask what devices the likes of Italy would have available to them without EU membership.

Germans shltting it cos they have all the money

The eurobonds thing is just a plot by the federalists. The EU countries can and will help through a much enhanced ERM and ECB without going that unnecessary route.

Good grief, the old chestnut about hard-working Germans again. Industrial productivity is all about investment, automation and organisation. In those respects, Germany has been quite successful.

Germany is the most economically successful nation in the EU, and 4th or 5th in the world with the biggest surplus in 2017, according to wiki, even more than China as their exports are mainly heavy machinery, vehicles, etc, unlike China. But, China is investing for its future by buying in/up raw materials and commodities from Africa (mainly), and the rest of the world.
Germans are undoubtedly hardworking and productive - they are not shirkers - no doubt a lesson learned after the humiliating defeat in the 2nd World War. Similarly, Japan, another loser in that war. And, it's no coincidence these two countries have learned from it. But, Germany and the Netherlands not helping out Italy - an EU founder - in this pandemic is insensitive and inexcusable esp after Germany agreeing to give mega annual handouts to new EU members of pariah economic status eg Poland and Bulgaria, etc, solely because these countries promote their cause ie acting as buffers against any possible invasion from Russia. And, it was Norway and Romania who helped with sending medics to Italy none from either Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Luxembourg or Belgium - the senior EU members. |
|
By:
No, Austria only ever invented nasty and bad things. Did you know Austria only came to be because it was where we Germans banished our worst of the really bad, safely surrounded and locked away by mountains.
..then modern transporation made it possible for them to get out again ![]() |

Germany has btw. sent tons of stuff to Italy, taken in Italian patients and German doctors have also gone to Italy. I'd suspect a few of the other countries you mentioned also have. Not new from you though, impossible123, to just frankly talk out of your bumhole without having researched anything at all.

The Norwegian and Romanian medical staff you mentioned were deployed through an EU mechanism/programme btw.
