Which particular brand of toothpaste did Andrew Black write about, or did he discuss a particularly unusual alternative use for the product ?

Who are the Hills of Donegal? Any relation to Billy the bookie?
Report Angoose April 7, 2020 1:51 PM BST
The Hills of Donegal is a 1947 British drama film directed by John Argyle and starring Dinah Sheridan, James Etherington and Moore Marriott. It follows a young Irish woman who abandons a promising career as singer to get married, only to discover that her husband is not the man she thought he was.

A new bit of trivia for you, may come up in a pub quiz one day Happy

Another subject could be "The oil fields of Wyoming "in fact we could treat ourselves and chat about the natural gas field in the green river basin in Wyoming,i would imagine this subject would catch a few thousands posts at least ,as most forumites would be up to speed about the Wyoming natural gas fieldsLaugh

The presence and use of oil can be traced back to 4000BC on the banks of the Euphrates, whilst the earliest recorded drilling activity took place in China in 347AD.

However, the modern industry began with the Pennsylvania Oil Rush in 1859. This was followed by the formation of the Standard Oil Company, led by John D. Rockefeller in 1882.

Rockefeller had stealthily acquired a diverse collection of oil interests and organized them under Standard Oil to form a monopoly position in the transportation and refining of oil.

These activities were to later be broken up in 1911, Standard Oil having been found guilty of unfair and immoral acts under the Sherman Anti-Trust Act of 1890.

Of the thirty-four companies born out of the dissolution of Standard Oil, many were to grow and become the dominant super-majors of today, including Exxon-Mobil and Chevron.

The invention of the internal combustion engine and the subsequent development of the motor vehicle industry, provided a new use for petroleum, one of the many products that result from the oil extraction process.

Black Gold had come of age, and specialist drilling contractors began to organize accordingly.

i was also thinking about a subject we could talk about is driverless cars.
the problems of the world would be softened if we all had driverless cars.
we could all send our cars to the supermarket to shop for us and a robot could stockpile the food into the car while we all stay at home.Grin

QUESTION=WHO WILL FIX THE PUNCTURE ON A DRIVERLESS CAR.Grin
Report treetop April 7, 2020 8:11 PM BST
The AA, computer programme (AI) would sense it before it punctured and call the AA before it happened Laugh
Report brassneck April 7, 2020 8:29 PM BST
but the AA repair van would be driverless also,so when it arrives at the punctured car there would be still nobody to fix the puncture and then the AA computer would send another AA DRIVERLESS repair van out,and then..........................WinkWink
