Ouch flush, I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be 'lumped in' with Somalians, I thought 'we' had at the very least contributed something to this great country since building Canals in mid 1700s that drove the Industrial Revolution to railways, etc, etc.
irishone, no point in asking you to stop posting shyyte as it appears to be your raison d'être. |

whats thick is the complete lack of advice re strengthening our immune systems.
Normally this would include, fresh air, exercise and eating healthily. Reduce stress, be calm and enjoy life. Stress weakens the immune system. What have they done? Kept people locked up under house arrest telling us we’ll kill or be killed if we read a book on the beach. |

Hancock was asked in question time in todays briefing, isn't it time the Goverment was more honest as in lockdown length, the woman cited Irelands new 5th of May lockdown date. A fair question answered by Hancock waffling on about Boris in hospital, half the briefing taken up with that, agree a definite ploy.

To be fair , if boris is bad leo is a disaster, i live in rural ireland and there aint a lot of social distancing going on, neighbour drove 40 miles to day via a motorway to visit ailing mother, not one road block, no gards about at all.... This is meant to be a two kilometre lockdown.... Absolute idiocy to not be able to police it
By:
it's actually quite an idiotic idea or rule, that somebody without corona is not allowed to drive alone in car to visit his sick mum, perform social distancing when there, drive home alone back to his home.
What coroanvirus risk in the above actions is there ? ZERO The reason for the 2km hasn't been fully explained correctly, it's **** all to do with the scenario you described. |
By:
if the car breaks down halfway how many would be involved then? you can walk the 2km.just saying like.
By:
Its been a bit tighter today according to neighbours. Going back to the original point, how can the u k be the highest number of deaths in europe ?
Whats behind that ? Cheltenham ? Parks opening, mass gatherings, not enough ppi ....... There are things here that dont add up ...but of you cant add up ......you get fecked |
By:
buffoons going to hospitals, shaking hands with everyone then going to work and shaking hands with everyone then going home?
By:
irishone, when Britain sneezes we catch a cold...
By:
What's behind it is encouraging the spread in the early stages. It spreads like wildfire and doesn't need encouragement. Also lack of testing generally and virtually no testing while they encouraged the spread. Sit on your hands for a week or two and you are in a bad way. Sit on your hands and encourage the spread for a week or two and you are fúcked.

But that said, the time to judge the UK's approach will be when things get back to normal. By definition they were always going to have more deaths taking that route. There is a long way to go and countries who locked down earlier might have to stay locked down for much longer than the UK if more of the UK population are immune. Asian countries are experiencing second waves when they try to reopen.

How on earth could it be mainly due to Cheltenham? The hotspots now are the same as they were in early March, London, Birmingham and the south east of Wales.

Some of you city folk seem to have no conception of rural life. Little or no mobile phone reception in many villages, very slow internet (although I am lucky on that), no mains gas or sewerage, no street lights, nearest chemist or GP surgery 6 miles, supermarket 7 miles, railway station 20 miles and that is in Somerset. I can well imagine it is much further in parts of Ireland bearing in mind that they have only 10% of the population of England in a similar land area. On the plus side most have big gardens, a very quiet lane past their houses, low pollution etc.
By:
Sorry the 2km is not just for exercise, it originally was but then they introduced further restrictions. But you are still allowed travel beyond 2km for food or medicine or to provide care to a family member. And if his mother is over 70 or her illness makes her immuno-compromised then she is cocooned and is not allowed to leave the house for any reason, including shopping.
