Hmmm. Straight after the government daily update and just before 6 o'clock news. Maximum viewers... |

The media's first task is to get you to watch or read their output. Their second task is to report the news. Good is boring; bad is interesting. Especially with today's 24-hour news they need to hype things to obtain and maintain your attention. There will be plenty in that industry praying for celebrity flu deaths as that will really draw in the punters.

I dont have a SMART phone
How can they track my old phone? Especially when i have it switched off 50% of the time ![]() |

The card still works. The battery still tells them where you are.

No way I'm letting a government tracking app produced in conjunction with a load of US contractors near my phone.
I'm going to install my spyware the old fashioned way, with a "click here to see nude pictures of .. " method. |

I don't have a mobile phone, can't be doing with em, if anyone wants to text me what they had for tea they'll have to wait until they see me.

Like no ****, now saying we might meet our climate targets, seems way out of Coulter with current events imo.Shoukd not be linking this virus with global warming and pollution, unless there is some kind of link?

I was watching the news on BBC2 this morning, and one reporter was warning against taking notice of misinformation on social media, and that the BBC would endeavour only to ever report factual information regarding coronavirus.
This came about 5 mins after they showed the report below, which came across as though it could have been produced by the CCP's top propaganda team. Apparently it's 'research' by the journal Science. I must admit I don't know much about them, nor who funds them, and maybe they are very reputable? The gist of it is, the Chinese lockdown may have prevented 700,000 cases, they've now got the situation pretty much under control with people returning to work, and their biggest concern is people causing another spike in cases through importing the virus from abroad (an example was given of a Chinese student returning from the UK and testing positive on his return). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNRA_HcSDsk |

If anyone's interested, I've discovered a very good publication called Delayed Gratification. Despite the name, it is a news publication, but it reports the news AFTER all the bull*** has died down. So, for example, the latest issue has just come out and reports on the news from Oct, Nov, Dec 2019; it's always 3 months behind. I find it much more relaxing to get my news that way nowadays.
I have no connection with the publication or slow-journalism as it's called; I just like the idea and the content. |
