Sun says 367 in England

The leap of 367 means figures in England have more than doubled from 159 yesterday in the biggest 24-hour leap.

Coronavirus cases for the UK will be released later by the Department of Health.

making allowances for weekend deaths admin etc, thats 800 since fri,and Fridays figure at 260 the 3 day figure would follow the pattern of doubling every 2 to 3 days, sat/sun false dawn maybe, you,d have though the dr,s,scientists would have had an idea of todays figures but seem to encourage more positive narrative yesterday, so todays figures will probably shock them,
260 sat you,d have expected 300 plus sun,and 350 plus for mon, todays figures just levelling out what would have been expected after the 260 figure

UK figures as at 31 March, 25,150 positive cases, 1,789 deaths.

Cases are the leading indicator, those are the ones to follow.

one day figures, especially at weekend are a poor indicator

a graph is far better indicator

as would be number of ventillators free for new patients, as they are saving some lives.

when they are full, deaths may well ramp up again

ANY EVIDENCE OF THEM SAVING LIVES RATHER than just prolonging lives,re ventilators

Figures were independently released by each of the four NHS boards.
Scotland 13, Wales 7, Northern Ireland 6, England 367, add those together and you get 393.

The subsequent UK release figure gave an implied daily total of 381 (1,789 - 1,408).

Weekly figures for England and Wales were updated on the ONS website, including the introduction of a new reporting category for COVID-19.
These figures extend to the week ending March 20, although additional data was provided up to March 26.

Too many different versions of the same data, if you ask me.
Designed to confuse.

new York mayor commo ,the longer your on a ventilator fact is less chance of surviving
By:
----you-have-to-laugh---
When: 31 Mar 20 16:43
ventilators seem to have about 50/50 survival from some early figures, but probably dependant on other illnesses
and timing of being placed on one.
By:
thegiggilo
When: 31 Mar 20 16:53
Looking how many people are turned away with suspected symptoms and then eventually dying, they ae literally killung people by not admitting ear;y enough far too many younger persons dying, there must be thousands on ventilators that will die eventually just because of lack of intervention.

Apparently 94 of today deaths happen on a previous day and only added today, if that's the case today's figure is 286.
By:
thegiggilo
When: 31 Mar 20 17:17
20% of deaths are missing because they were outside of hospital..

Equally, there will have been deaths that occurred within the reporting period of 5pm 29 March to 5pm 30 March that will not have been included in the figure released. These will be included in subsequently released figures.

No point speculating on missed deaths, you can only stick with the official figures, the fact is 94 of those included in today's figures didn't actually die today, so today's headline figure is much lower.
By:
thegiggilo
When: 31 Mar 20 18:35
20% of deaths are not recorded in totals as not in hospitals, that's another 300
By:
potlis
When: 31 Mar 20 18:39
ONS has now been tasked with compiling figures which will include non Hospital deaths.
