I will be this week,must be high chance of it being infected all the stackers,packers trays etc etc what about fruit and veg no one ever mentions it..

Fruit such as oranges etc can be washed same as with your hands.
Immediately place all of your purchases in to the microwave upon unpacking.
Place it on to its highest setting, set for twenty five minutes, and all will be well.

That's because it was born in a freezer in a Wuhan lab! 
If stuff can't be removed from packaging of immediately washed, we have got a 'quarantine' area for new food or drink brought into the house.

Unplug the microwave, carry it and its contents outside, place the lot in to the nearest available skip.

I think it's important to wash your hands immediately after a visit to the supermarket before unpacking, then again after unpacking. The former to rid-of the virus asap similarly, the latter. Also, I believe the virus have short shelf life. It also minimises the risk of infection if one touches one's face or nose.

Yes, but this scenario and all the scare stories and all the advice is going to put health anxiety and generalised anxiety through the roof.

I think the virus can remain longer in the fridge or freezer.
We bring things left outside the door in carrying gloves and quarantine new items for 3 days.
I had to break this rule a couple of days ago as I was desperate for a beer that had just arrived about 8 hours before.
Poured it wearing gloves.
Chucked the can.

I drink a lot of beer which is now ordered in boxes of ten, twelve or more. Cans or bottles not fussed.
My take is the companies making the beer have automated bottling/canning lines which aren't touched by humans. Not sure what happens at the packaging end but I guess that it's also done automatically. Once inside packaging it should be safe. If it's in cardboard which mine is if you leave it for a day or two, not in the fridge, it should be safe.

Also not sure how long the process of bottling to retailing is so may not be an immediate problem but may be something to consider in the future. Generally though I consider it a safe product.
I now have a supply of 36 Heinekiens and 18 Fosters under my desk now.
My daughter ordered me a further 24 cans from Spain to be delivered in 3-5 days.
That should see me through the first few months. Beyond that I am not sure.

Nobody was ruling out spirits or red wine I hope. The holy trinity Scotch, red wine and beer (or larger).
Unless you're in the at risk group, I find all this very strange. I went to Tescos today observing social distancing as best I could and will continue to go shopping. I was served by a teenage girl who must have been doing an 8 hour shift serving hundreds of people and look on here to find grown men too terrified to leave the house getting home deliveries. If you live with a vulnerable person/ or are vulnerable fair enough but if war broke out, I'm glad Im not in the trenches with grown men washing their hands 20 times a day at home sh1tting themselves in terror

My wife is in a high risk group. Been isolated for 13 days. Could be a year or more to go. Who knows at this point.

I think we will all end up getting it eventually and if people have partners/family in the high risk group I understand caution but I live alone and have no intention of being holed up like a prisoner ordering food online. I hope I dont get it but if it happens so be it. I keep my distance as best I can from people but live in the middle of nowhere anyway with my closest shop 6 miles away

it's a reactionary thing ...the important thing with hand washing is the timing -- ie coming home after you've been out touching/picking stuff up outside .

MY Aldi have put up plastic screens around the tills which if nothing else shows at least they have thought about it.
The thing about masks is they are highly visual giving the impression you have thought about your safety and other people. Asks also stop you touching your mouth. Gloves are even more important but I have not seen any politicians or tv presenters wearing them. Dry few people in supermarkets are wearing gloves.

I'd worry that I'd be constantly adjusting the mask if I wore one, hence touching my mouth or nose.
Going back to the handwashing 20 times a day thing, I'm reminded of my Ukrainian father, who somehow survived 4 years fighting on the Russian front. My (English) mother used to make fun of him for being a 'right old worry-guts'. Looking back, maybe his survival and him being a worry-guts were related. The last person I'd want next to me in a war is a a man without fear.
