Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.

I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

millions got it,had it seems the cough is a red herring as regards the mild form,me and wife think we might have had it,but not a cough between us

it isnt really that surprising, he meets a lot more people than the average person does so is more at risk (the same applies to royalty and celebs).

They need to be testing the entire cabinet and top health officials on a daily basis so they can be isolated immediately if they get it.

If multiple people from the cabinet are unable to perform their duties, would the people from the shadow cabinet take over or would deputies from the governing party take over temporarily until the normal inhabitants of the posts are not inconvenienced anymore?

(there is no such thing as a shadow government/cabinet in Germany, so the concept and use of it isn't entirely clear to me)

Hi jolly, no one should delight in any person getting this, I expect they will recover quickly given what we know or think we know from the many reports around the World.

Frankly, at the moment this is a national crisis and we should currently have a national government with representatives of all major parties in cabinet to tackle it.

Correct. From a practical point of view, it simply appoints MP's to act as opposition spokespersons on defined ministerial subjects.

So Johnson must have been diplaying some of the symptoms yesterday afternoon which is why he was tested .. he should have gone into isolation then . .. the results came back at Midnight but he should have self isolated before he went into the open at 8pm to clap the NHS staff  ... how many has he poentially infected .. or was he practicing the Herd mentality

I,m still baffled,bewildered,confused, 1000,s of nurses getting tested over weekend if downing street,rest of Europe,usa,world is an example 100,s of nurses will test positive sent home ,replaced from elsewhere by other nurses lost of whoom will catch virus within 24/36 hr,s, can not see the benefits of mass testing of nurses, we either run out of nurses or those in corona wards where possible like millions of other people jog on with the symptons
can gurantee within a week those nhs workers begging for tests today will be begging to be allowed to return to front line with no or mild symptons

surely someones worked this out, no person alive can expect most nhs workers to test negative, its madness

even gove admitted theres no benefit only downside to testing all of cabinet,lots will fail,compare that to those working on frontline with most infected victims
