Boris Johnson #StayHomeSaveLives
@BorisJohnson

Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.

I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

Yes, assuming he recovers quickly like most people it's probably a good time, as he will have the immunity going forward.

I hope it's only a mild one. The people and country need him at the helm; we voted for him, and not his mates.

whatever we think of him he is the pm and is human, let's hope he gets well soon.

it isnt really that surprising, he meets a lot more people than the average person does so is more at risk (the same applies to royalty and celebs).

On that quiz show House of Games last week contestants were shown a picture and asked to smash it together with a hair style. A picture of Claire Short came up, so the answer was short back and sides. But one of the contestants didn't recognise her and said Anne Widdicombover

Before People make comments about people with the Virus , I would like to inform you that you are Long Odds on to have it yourself at some stage

I would not be surprised if Boris has deliberately exposed himself to it , to get it out of the way to deal with the chaos that is about to kick

off .........  Isolation will not stop this virus, it will only delay the spread ...

Disgusting comments on this thread form the usual suspects.

They need to be testing the entire cabinet and top health officials on a daily basis so they can be isolated immediately if they get it.

serious question.

If multiple people from the cabinet are unable to perform their duties, would the people from the shadow cabinet take over or would deputies from the governing party take over temporarily until the normal inhabitants of the posts are not inconvenienced anymore?

(there is no such thing as a shadow government/cabinet in Germany, so the concept and use of it isn't entirely clear to me)

Hi jolly, no one should delight in any person getting this, I expect they will recover quickly given what we know or think we know from the many reports around the World. Laugh

Frankly, at the moment this is a national crisis and we should currently have a national government with representatives of all major parties in cabinet to tackle it.

Ok

So...shadow cabinet doesn't really have a function beyond showing voters who would potentially fill positions if the opposition were to win the next elections?
