I had heart problems a few years ago.... Been on medication ever since, so I think I might be getting one of these letters soon telling me to stay in for twelve weeks.

No footie or racing.... Might start playing a bit of online poker. Maybe try to learn a language, Spanish maybe. Anyone else got any ideas?

Why spanish ? If the latest news bulletins are to be believed they'll only be a few hundred coronavirus survivors in Spain for you to converse with . Bout as useful as learning Italian !
Maybe a better idea to learn russian . Don't think they'll let some silly little virus get the better of them Wink

A letter from f.scott Fitzgerald quarantined in 1920 in the south of France during the Spanish flu outbreak

Dearest rosemary,
It was a limpid dreary day, hung as in a basket from a single dull star.i thank you for your letter.
Outside I perceive what may be a collection of fallen leaves tussling against a trash can.it rings
like jazz in my ears.the streets are that empty,it seems as though the bulk of the city has
retreated to their quarters ,rightfully so.at this time it seems very poignant to avoid public spaces.
even in the bars,as I told Hemingway, but to that he punched me in the stomach,to which I asked if
he had washed his hands.he hadn’t.he is much the denier that one.why,he considers the virus to be
just influenza,I’m curious of his sources
The officials have alerted us to ensure we have a months worth of necessities.zelda & I have stocked
up on red wine,whiskey,rum,vermouth,absinthe,white wine,Sherry,gin,and lord,if we need it,Brandy
Please pray for us.

One positive is that we haven't had to see that twisted sister Greta the bed wetter for a few weeks.
That's worth a few million deaths right off the bat.

It's good straight with plenty ice, Juce.  In moderation, of course - relse it's living death the next day.

It's way way more than that

Then you can give us the real figure after you've sobered up.

And leave out the foul language.

Please do not try to provoke fellow forumites, dear Dr Crippen.

What, like you're trying to provoke me little edy?

Each time I reply in kind to another poster, you pop up and back up the other party.

Don't you think it's a bit cowardly to wait until there's always two onto one?

Merely reminding you that we should show a certain minimum level of civility, courtesy and manners should not be deemed as a provocation. If you feel that way, I am sorry. There is a very simple way to avoid these awkward situations - stay nice. Happy

Also, quite recently we had the following conversation:

Dr Crippen • March 6, 2020 12:14 PM GMT
I do hope I didn't hit a nerve with little edy by mentioning erectile dysfunction. That would be most unfortunate.

edy • March 6, 2020 12:17 PM GMT
Why do you think I'm so opposed to you calling me little edy?

edy • March 6, 2020 12:18 PM GMT
So please don't call me that, or similar, if you think it is unfortunate and not desired to hit a nerve regarding my wiener.

edy • March 6, 2020 12:18 PM GMT
Unless, of course, you are a bully that wants to hit a nerve.

Dr Crippen • March 6, 2020 12:52 PM GMT
Why do you think I'm so opposed to you calling me little edy?

Brilliant comeback - class post.

edy • March 6, 2020 12:56 PM GMT
It's not a comeback, as much as it is an explanation why you, if you really are not a bully, should not be calling me "little edy" or similar. Something I have asked you to not do over half a dozen times without you listening.

Thank you for being a considerate grown up.

Why do you nonetheless feel the urge to bully me yet again by calling me something you know hurts me? You said you hoped you didn't hit a nerve. Please act according to your words. Thank you Happy
