Other large Chinese populations can be found in Korea, Japan, London, California, New York, Australia and yes, Iran. It is Iranian Chinese who are responsible for bringing the disease back to China and creating the second wave. The outbreak has been declared an epidemic in more than a dozen states and union territories, where provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 have been invoked, and educational institutions and many commercial establishments have been shut down. More than a billion people in India have been asked to observe a 14-hour long curfew to try to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the curfew last week, telling citizens that it would be a test in order to assess the county's ability to fight the virus.
