Any other chit chatters now working from home due to CV? Aside from gambling and/or watching Homes Under The Hammer.

How's it going so far?

I wfh one day a week anyway, but several months on the trot is going to be a bit different! Save on petrol and parking exs, half hour extra kip daily, assume my electricity and take away costs will spike.

It was difficult at first, but saving loads on diesel..

It's not easy being a fork truck driver these days.

There's going to be thousands upon thousands of public sector workers on full pay at home doing nothing for months. Not really sustainable. The BBC lot are going to miss their free copies of the grauniad though.
Report David Icke March 19, 2020 4:55 PM GMT
The government will be recruiting more police to deal with domestics, probably end up sending the army in.
Report Angoose March 19, 2020 4:59 PM GMT
We've had Johnson on tv giving a demonstration of how to wash your hands.
Surely it is now time for him to give a demonstration of how to wipe your @rse.

Problem is, like using a mop, he's probably never done it before Grin

The knock on effects are crazy. So no parking revenue for councils for example. At least I've had by council tax bill for next year.

Perhaps not, but he was able to hand Corbyn's own on a plate.

And what's it all for? The virus will still run its course.

We're only prolonging the crisis until enough of us get it and get over it.
Report Cider March 19, 2020 5:55 PM GMT
A developed, free country in 2020 just doesn't have the political stomach to willingly sacrifice tens of thousands of its most vulnerable citizens for the greater good.
Report Cider March 19, 2020 5:58 PM GMT
Many might perish anyway, but they have to been seen to try. It's clear that the analysis is that if left alone, it will essentially wipe out the health system.
Report Just Checking March 19, 2020 6:40 PM GMT
It's not really being seen to try it's to try and optimise the infection rate so that the NHS isn't overloaded but not keep the country like a failing prison camp for a few years. It's going to happen so manage it best you can. It's not difficult to understand, though many can't seem to. Unfortunately (and I'm not aiming this at you cider as you get it) there seems to be a lot of thick people or people with their own personal hate ridden agendas who don't seem to grasp this.
Report Cider March 19, 2020 6:44 PM GMT
The analogy is a bit like the chap in 127 Hours. Cut your arm off with a pen knife to survive. Most people couldn't do that, and would prefer to wait for help in the hope of divine intervention.
Report Cider March 19, 2020 6:49 PM GMT
There's no easy answer, I just find the moaners and those with absolutely ridiculous expectations of what the government can do about this, those that are entirely incapable of thinking for themselves, extremely irksome.
Report Dr Crippen March 19, 2020 6:51 PM GMT
It's clear that the analysis is that if left alone, it will essentially wipe out the health system.

No that's not clear at all. How did we get on in 1968 when we were in the same situation?

But of course, that was without the hysterics from the media, hyping everybody up every time we tuned in.
Report Cider March 19, 2020 6:53 PM GMT
Throughout those press conferences, not one 'journalist' has the common decency to even acknowledge the hard work of the experts and the PM, and the stress they must be working under. Essentially, the weight of the nation, but prefer to get their political digs in.
Report Just Checking March 19, 2020 6:59 PM GMT
I think this pretty much nails working from home:
