This advice isn't clear at all.  Are they saying you can't go to pubs/restaurants etc?  Or are they suggesting that you shouldn't.

It needs to be one or the other.  Are they forcing businesses to close?  What will happen if I go to the gym, or the local shops?
It's all well and good to say stay at home and close everything down.  But I can't see the council letting me off my council tax, or British Gas ceasing the gas & leccy bills ffs.

We have to work to run our businesses - we have to eat for crying out loud.  What a fkn shambles this government advice is.

an Italy  style lockdown  would certainly freeze out the virus after a few weeks would it not ?  ...nip it in the bud etc .

agreed tube travel or public transport (might)  be a bad idea . Wearing a mask here the one time this might be helpful

pubs even worse   from the prospect of contraction since you won't be wearing a mask ..what if some idiot sneezes at a packed bar .

If all this is  nonsense then that's fair enough  , but  if it's not you could be indirectly affecting a sick elderly person in your family ..so maybe drink at home for now and  have a good laugh about it later

Avoiding pubs etc carte blanche is stupid. Firstly get one of these FPP3 rated (a must against viruses) https://www.wickes.co.uk/Elipse-FPP3-Safety-Respirator/p/209886 and you are safe. Just drink through a straw if there are too many people. Most residential area pubs are never full so plenty of room for everyone, especially during the week, plus plenty of room outdoors, to keep your distance from others.

Basically its all about using your common sense, but the government thinks we all are stupid. The only reason why this is happening is because the government didn't shut down the airport and stopped people coming in. If they did that over a month ago then we would be protected by the sea.

Finally what is so special about stocking up on toilet paper. FFS stop being retarded. Tinned soup, noodles, rice, freezer full of meat and vegs is all you need. And a cheap bottle of vodka, not for drinking (can't stand the stuff) but a teaspoon in your hand and rub your hand in vodka and you will be ok. Cheaper than hand sanitisers.

Spot on. However banning larfe gatherings, shutting schools, get people to work at homeclosing pubs, restaurants, gyms, etc would give a gradual increase in infection giving the NHS more chance of dealing with it.

Report Injera March 16, 2020 9:19 PM GMT
Leading institutions in healthcare recognize sepsis as a significant challenge. Sepsis is a blood stream infection that creates a cascade of bodily responses, which can ultimately result in organ failure and/or death.1 Sepsis is one of
the leading causes of death in the United States,2 with a 34.7 to 52% mortality rate in hospitals.3 Sepsis affects more than one million people a year and causes 258,000 deaths annually in the U.S.4 Furthermore, the treatment of sepsis costs the U.S. healthcare market $24 billion per year, making it the number one hospitalization cost in the country.5 Individually, sepsis costs an average of $20,000 - $40,000 per hospital stay.6 While any infection can lead to sepsis, respiratory infections are the most common precipitating condition.7 Below is a summary of some of the evidence highlighting the relationship between pneumonia and sepsis.
