The only way that you can determine that is to run full scale experiments which can’t realistically be done.

Don’t forget that not all countries are at the same stage.
Italy has only recently introduced a lockdown, it wasn’t in place 4 weeks ago.

Just been told that we are around 4 weeks behind Italy.

Angoose - I realise that but I'm hearing eminent people saying that now is the time to implement tough measures.  In fact, they're saying such measures should have been put in place two weeks ago.

During Boris Johnson's address, one of the advisors did confirm this but stressed that this was not in terms of any restrictions or measures that may be implemented.

Aren't the WHO sayng it is time for draconian measures?

Chris Whittys quote seems nonsense that people will lose their enthuasiasm, he up to now seemed genuine enough.

Imho, up until very recently, few people were taking this seriously:

"It's just the flu."
"It'll disappear."
"What's all the fuss about"

And some didn't (maybe still don't) think it even existed.

Even the new advice that has come out today, is just that: advice.
