It seems likely more and more people with have to self isolate for weeks with little to do.
At first glance this would seem like great news for the betting industry as people will just spend all day gambling on obscure sporting events.
However the spread of the virus means inevitably that more and more sporting events will be cancelled too and the number of betting opportunities considerably reduced.
It would seem like the Coronavirus itself would provide many great new betting markets for Betfair to fill these gaps.
On a daily basis
Over/Under x new cases
Over/Under x deaths
Country with most new cases
Country with most new deaths
Plenty of individual country over/under markets too
Can all be repeated for weekly/monthly markets.

My point was Cheltenham is international in terms of folk arriving and returning..

But my point being is they'll never cancel their gladiator games, they may stop us attending them but its a case of sit and watch it on the TV, because there's to much commercial revenue to be made plus the distraction it creates
