As a retired financial adviser I would not consider one of these and I'm expecting big issues to arise for future claims. Never sold one and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to take one out, even though my colleagues still in the game would give me a decent drink for doing so. just put a quid in a glass(where you can see it) and double it fourteen times ,and thats the funeral paid for and enough left over for everyone to get drunk,but no gambling with the funeral money,when you start you start,your mind will tell you how to double the glass money,but first you must think of how to get the first quid,put it in the glass and you are on your way,and step one of fourteen is completed.

and if you die while saving in the glass,everyone will say"god love him,he was even saving for his own funeral" "now that's how to get rid of pressure on the mind" first step takes all the pressure away. so get that quid put it in the glass and you will feel the pressure of your funeral expenses disappear.(make sure and put a note in the glass with the words FUNERAL EXPENSES)

It can work for some,my sister and husband did this a few years ago and as an executor it made it a bit easier organising details at a sensitive time. No doubt there are disadvantages but paying over the odds at the time saved some issues later. Recommend a lasting power of attorney in place with someone you can trust though.
