Biggest pile of sh1t3 since the ringmaster spiked Dumbo with Exlax.

There's more savvy, discipline and, yes, joy to be found in the most pitful thread on the Horse Racing forum than there was in this pile of offal.

Still, it re-enforces the BBC-driven narrative that 'gambling' equals 'problem gambling' so that's allright then.

The courtsider that turns over £1,000,000 a year looked like he slept in a doorway the night before the interview.
A million my ar$e, they shut the presenters account down after two days of courtsiding.

Great showing from the dog 'Pro' Laugh

As for the courtsider, he was shaking a lot; nervous or too much of the credit card use (not only for gambling)? In his defence, he did hit the numbers on those days. How would Betfair have responded I wonder? Bet365 wouldn't have liked that advert for their site... shame.

Have to side with Hanx here a little... nothing new learned and outcome as expected.

Recorded it and watched it today. I found it entertaining and the courtsiding had previously passed me by. Of course the problem would be getting on.
I can empathise with the football bets at the end -if you cash out you regret the losing a bit and if you don't you curse the ones that go against you.

Yeah but to call a programme 'Can You Beat The Bookies?' and feature a p1$$-artist who bets on jockeys wearing pink, flits from sport to sport like a fly on cowsh1t. who is lazy (relying on tipsters and exisiting working methods such as courtsiding) is the supremest b0110cks.

A disciplined form student, with a long-term strategy a sufficient betting bank, ideally mortgage and other commitments-free and with a knowledge of probability theory and who specialises in a discrete arena / sport? Well that wouldn't re-enforce any sterotypes of the down at heel 'problem' gambler the BBC likes to portray at every opportunity, no matter you'd have a better stab at answering the question posed by the programme title.
Report stickyvicky • February 18, 2020 11:38 AM GMT
The latter folk you talk about seem to be head hunted and even work for the betting companies.
They spoke to some of the betting companies employee's who were sitting happily and smugly behind a bank of computer screens watching live sports events and these lads gave the impression that they never lose.
Maybe if the BBC made a programme about them lads it would be more insightful but then again they don't want to give away the secrets of their multi-billion pound industry either.
Report BARROWBOY • February 18, 2020 1:11 PM GMT
In the end the lad would probably have lost less if he’d stuck to the pink jockey routine.how the hell did he progress from ******** himself having £100 on a 5/6 horse tip to having thousands on 3 inconsequential end of season footy matches?
Report Facts • February 18, 2020 1:46 PM GMT
The programme was utter mindless rubbish.

Wonder how much university of Warwick pay the gambling expert that was on the programme.
