I've often wondered about myself there. OCD or something perhaps but it's just looking for a label and an excuse. You just have to get on with it imo.

The real problem with all these types of people who may be on the "spectrum" is that it distorts the view of an ill informed Public
about people with serious issues caused by Autism.

I was thinking that perhaps the Americans aren't so far out with so many, it would seem , having their own therapist. Maybe we all just need someone to talk to occasionally. And maybe it's being/feeling isolated, which seems to be the way of things nowadays, that's the killer.

Was one in 10,000 in 1970 now its 1 in 37. LOL...30 years ago we called that kid thick as sh1te!  He couldnt sit still or be quiet when asked, when the teacher said open your books on page 98, he just couldnt grasp what that meant..ect, ect... Now he'd be Diagnosed with an Autistic disorder...

'Thick kids' in past times would have been dyslexic or the other one, about having a problem with numbers, dyscalculia.  Or ADHD.  Or dyspraxia.

I don't think anyone denies that Autistic Spectrum Conditions exist.  And they are not usually 'thick' at all.  They are generally more intelligent than the average - with some being super intelligent.

If you start with the guy who isnt able to speak, sits in a chair dribbling and rocking... and on the other end you have somebody like Bill Gates or even Einstein... In-between those you can fit every Oddbod, slightly Oddbod, Quirky, Eccentric Endless list of words describing us all...
