Odd dream

I was amongst a crowd watching a man who was chained to a park bench.  He read a statement saying something along the lines of his being fed up with life and was going to end it all.  A fire was then lit beneath the bench.  The man was obviously in pain but couldn't get away due to the chains.  He said he had changed his mind but I knew, without it being said, that once he'd decided to do it there was no going back.  It was a slow-burning fire and he took 76 hours to die.
