given the time if they feel the need, people can always hide behind something to excuse what they've posted,as the great line in Shawshank says we,re all innocent in here, only stewart no,s what he meant and the fact he resigned might mean it meant more than his friends thought it did

From doridorus's link, anyone seen the profile of his accuser, the bloke who made the complaint?

Look what he gets away with and little said.

I wonder what 1tp has got to say about him?

It's all one-way traffic when it comes to censoring people over comments.

I,m not arguing or agreeing one way or another, what I,m saying is would mr stewart/mizz singh be on the 6 o clock news defending bobby smith from the local council estate if he,d posted the same or similar, did stewart/singh defend danny baker for posting a chimp after megan give birth, baker swore he wasn't a racist, some of my best friends are black, blah, blah
like i said we,re all innocent when it suits

I repeat it again
the common rule of thumb from so called experts is that in the middle of a twitter conversation, chat, argument etc, you can pull a racist phrase out it reveals what your true thoughts, thinking are/is
but when so called well educated people who should no better say these things its not potraying their inner thinking,

Again, not one word of condemnation about the presenter's accuser who seems to have gone a lot further than Stewart with long list of dubious posts.

Only one person in the 'spat' was seeing colour. Who's the racist then.

Pretty clear our easily offended Twitter friend views life through the prism of others' skin colour.

What's this got to do with Danny Baker?

Please quote me anything from AS that leveled somebody's skin colour against them.

if our friend of the council estate bobby smith had posted the chimp photo would stewart/singh.and baker be on 6 o clock news saying it wasn't meant to be racist
those Spanish grand prix fans blacked up with stockings over their faces, said thery wernt racist
truedeaux said he wasn't been racist
we,re all innocent in here

Someone quoted Shawshank earlier, obtuse comes to mind.
The Twitter friend IS a racist, I've quoted the evidence. It's up to you to demonstrate that AS is (if that is your opinion). I've a hunch that's gonna be a long wait.

The guy is a cuck and got played by a smart black dude. If this is how journalists are going to surrender to PC then there is no hope and we are just wasting our time whining about it.

You can debate all you want about how bad the other poster is. The fact that AS couldn't stand up to a guy who has a history of directly racist posts on the same platform tells you all you need to know about him. Why waste your time defending such a man? He's rubberstamped the normalcy of such behavior by apologizing.

I like you  have no idea if stewart is racist ,and I care even less, what I care about is public figure after public figure week in week out ,come out with these comments but demand people dont label them racist, but when joe public off a council estate says similar things people like stewart ,singh, etc say these people are revealing what they really think

Actually it's reasonable enough to aplogise if you caused genuine unintended offence. In the same way as you would apologise for bumping into someone on the street. Even if the other person wasn't looking were they were going. That used to be known as common decency. I feel like you're overblowing that element of the story, datraveller. Sometimes people get the better of you, even when you're in the right. There's no point in crying about it. This is about more than AS though, it's evidence of the infestation of woke culture and the damage it can lead to.

I am not denying the new culture and the damage it will cause. What I am saying is that people who are in the position to stand up to it are surrendering, so what hope have we got?

It wasn't a 'Sorry' that you'd say when you bump into someone. AS called it an error of judgement. He shouldn't have done that. At best, he should have just said I am sorry that my comments were misunderstood. That's all. There was no error involved assuming he was indeed using the Shakespeare reference and not just hiding behind it.

The error of judgement was assuming the person he was engaging with wasn't a racist. As I said before, a literal interpretation of the rules means AS likely break them.

Fully agree with you. But he could come out any time now and point out the hypocrisy. He has, as i said earlier, absolutely nothing to lose. If he doesn't then he is part of the PC brigade as far as I see it. He isn't a simpleton, 40 years in the industry he knows fully well how to report according to current agendas.
