I had my first cigarette in September 2003 and a few more in 2004 but I didn't start regularly until January 2005.  I stopped in late April 2018, and haven't had one since, so 2019 is the first smoke-free January-to-December year since 2002.  Bang on half a lifetime ago.  I'm sure you're all delighted to know that but I don't keep a diary so this forum will have to suffice.

Wd Lyb and other quitters.  I gave up in May till a week before Christmas and will be quitting again this week.  Love a smoke but it fks with yer health.  DON'T START!

I was in a pub in Newcastle recently having a drink with a friend.

I enquired politely as to why he was looking so glum.  "Is it the nicotine cravings?" I said.

"Nah, it's the smerking ban," he replied.
