I've had both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video this past year. For films Amazon is streets ahead, especially classics and older cinema. There are barely any films from the last millenium on Netflix. Yet, Netflix is branded (and thought of) as the best and only choice
Not having older films is hardly a disadvantage. They invest a lot of money in making films and know how profitable it is to have past films on the platform. Fk all I would say. Their audience on avg is younger as well. If i want to watch a classic I just watch it on youtube, most are there for free.
I also don't understand prime. I pay for the membership but I can watch some of the movies while I have to rent or pay for some of them. It p1sses me off when I open prime video, search for the movie, and find out I have to pay for it. No such thing with Netflix. I do not have netflix now and have prime only because they offered it for free for a year.
